crossfire is supposed to have a dynamic economy. why then is the berlin stuttart the main trading route?
I have not found that super cargo that costs very little and can make huge profits. those that may are illegal ok but still pay relatively little if you dont have a large freighter.
because some systems are closed (clan system) i cannot explore and find out.
could it be possible to have a licensed cargo? the licence bought in a clan system for use by non members? could we have the highly illegal high price cargo?
Its rare to see the longer cargo routes e.g. the diamond & engine routes in the original freelancer that could pay more than a few thousand per item profit. could there be a limit on the amount you could buy so that mid level players like myself could earn quicker.
it seems im almost forced to take on missions and sell the pilots at prisons to make money quicky. bribe to recover rep later. i want to remain a freelancer.
lack of choice cargo routes

I see many players complain of low paying routes. There is nothing like that. It is just that you guys do not want to run trade runs up and down for many hours at end calling it boring.
The trade run of VIPS from Manhattan to any other planet in a soulforge nets a cool 3 million.
The Prisoner run nets even more. All the cops mostly do prisoner runs to earn credits. Just look around and you will see many cops at Level 90.

Indeed it does, but you have to learn how to track the routes, since they change dynamically every day. Clan systems are only occasionally high-value destinations for BMG's and never the sales point. Licenses are available for sale @ house capitols, but none is really needed yet to give access to any class of goods.... -

well, the dynamic economy isn't even that dynamic. it cycles around. you encounter the same routes and profits every few days (usually 1 week & some days) now a really random dynamic economy .... that's another story

Now, how about a REAL dynamic economy?
I mean, if you did a trade route like 50 times in a soulforge, don't you think that the place you GOT the trade stuff will make them more EXPENSIVE, and the place where you SOLD it can now lower the price because it already got SO much of it?Think about it, THAT'S real!
For example, if something wasn't supplied to a certain base or planet, wouldn't it, eventually, INCREASE the price for that thing, EVEN if it is at all sold?
Say, you didn't trade oxygen to the Outcast base Cali, and they REALLY need it, and they didn't get for a LONG time...
Wouldn't you think that they'd increase the price for it, so you WOULD want to sell them oxygen? -
and the lag caused by real economy is also real
-
maybe the "real" dynamic economy could be done client-side (instead of server-side) ?
-
and maybe we could introduce more client side cheats?

YES! pls

Agreed a real time fluctuating economy, that is changed solely by the demand and supply of goods, would absolutely be awesome. You sell 10000 prisoners to Stutgart and all of a sudden your not making 1400 for each, but 700 since you now have overloaded their prisons and they will need to be offloaded some where else. This would be awesome, but as OP said, the server lag would also be just as awesome unfortunately.
Great idea though, these types of ideas is what keeps the mods evolving. Keep it coming, soon OP will be able to devise a way for this to work without killing us lag wise. Soon.

He said it will cause lag and it is like he said. If you switch lets say once per hour the market files, all active clients would have to download them - and what would happen?
Yes correct, lag!
Crossfire has tons of stations more than other Mods - which all would have to be updated. We discussed this real economy thing before - and i realy would like it - but the technical side is as OP said and not to change without lag imO.
Btw. No! No more Client sided possibilities! I would prefer a terminal server solution for all instead ^^.

Just play EVE
Dynamic economy, constantly changing.
And if you get homesick for lag, just enter the Jita system. Brings it all flooding back to you
-
blah eve is waaay too big - you can play for a lifetime and never meet any non-npc. it's like 3000+ or so systems...

black market goods = illegal and you'll get problems with police
