errrm, could you please explain a complete computer-dummy where to exactly unzip the file to and what to do next? cozi it's not working yet.

I've extracted all the file into my FL dir, but it doesn't work. The launcher say only singleplayer - and in multiplayer mode the server doesn't appear in the list.
Plz can you post an exact installing instruction? -
- First of all you need a programm able to handle *.zip files^^.
- WinRAR @ www.rarlab.com , WinZIP @ www.winzip.com or 7-zip @ www.7-zip.org are the most popular choices *doh^^*
- now extract the content of the zip file into a random, empty directory anywhere on your harddisc.
- Checkout the extracted files and you will find 2 directorys called "DATA" and "EXE". Pick them and copy/move them into your Freelancer directory as shown in the pictore below (usually C:\program files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer). If windows asks wether it should replace existing files and folders click 'Yes/Overwrite, Always'.
- Now start the new Freelancer.exe (or via Mod Manager or via Account Manager).
- Select Single Player
- Join the server as if you would have clicked Multi Player.It doesnt work.. what could have gone wrong?
- You extracted the files into your Freelancer Mod Manager directory
- You extracted the files directly into the the Freelancer directory but forgot to check 'overwrite all'
- You tempered with the Mod Manager during the Installation process of this temp patch.Yet I have a few questions @ OP. In the current dayset we have Dom Kavash in X which is pretty exciting of course but bad to be kept up for more than 3 days^^. Will there be a dynamic solution soon?
Does this temp patch contain the ~400 or so files which usually are downloaded via the launcher at the first start? Im asking for those people who are reinstalling right now because the patch didnt work for some reason. -

ive choosen a random state on the server and stopped the dynamic universe then... that there are dks in x is something i didnt know at that time but i think it keeps the time interesting until the automatic update is working again
yes this update contains the 1.7a patch and all other updates of the last year

make sure, you replaced the original files with the files from this zip-folder
and also in the 'right' directories.than start FL like regular.
when the message comes, that only SP is available, chose SP and then go ahead, like you did chose MP
in the next screen, select 'crossfire multiplayer'
and it should show you the window, where you have to chose the server, you want to play on.join the server... fly to the x-system -- have fun fighting the DK's

BTW: "drag & drop" installation of the update has its own problems, due to icon size in the explorer window. Better to use copy & paste, for precise file placement...

My first words online to Dr. Straw were HALLELUJAH! Thanks to Straw and everyone who tested today to make sure all was working..
And Abrasdevil thanks you all too.. now I'll be too busy playing CF to chase him around the house.. Poor guy, he's completely worn out.. ROFL.
