This week at Bungie, we prepare for our Last Wish.
We’re deep into week two of Forsaken. Many of you have finished your hunt and served justice to Uldren. That was just the beginning. The bravest Guardians have already visited the Dreaming City and begun to uncover its secrets. Tomorrow, fireteams will make their first attempts at defeating our latest raid, Last Wish.
As with every raid, we will be watching the streams and cheering you on. The completion of the raid is not even the endcap of what the Dreaming City has to offer. There are many more mysteries to uncover once the final boss has been slain.

It has been nearly a decade since Igiss graced us with his posts of old on the overarching development of the mod. For the past three years we've been enamoured with spreadsheets and technicalities from the simple changes of base IFFs to system redesigns, that we seem to have forgotten exactly what it means to write for a roleplay environment. In this post we aim to correct that failing, by providing an inclusive overview of Discovery 4.91, Pyres of Remembrance.

…The current generation of video game consoles has brought many wonderful new games into people’s homes, but many have also found great enjoyment by re-experiencing many beloved pre-existing titles. Given their ease of development and limited backwards compatibility on current consoles, remasters of games from previous generations like Grand Theft Auto and the Uncharted trilogy have been quite popular, with even the likes of classic trilogies such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon receiving full-on remakes. One trilogy that numerous fans have clamored for has been the Mass Effect trilogy, and now it seems that BioWare may be hinting at a Mass Effect trilogy remaster being in the works.

EmuMusicFan has completed another set of regal Kilrathi drawings based primarily on the characters of Wing Commander Action Stations. Prince Thrakhath's father and older brother, Gilkarg and Ratha, are up first, and since this is from earlier in the war, Thrakhath himself appears younger. We also see Second Fleet commander Admiral Nargth. Although he's not in AS, Baron Melek is also included as a bonus sketch. I think this art style is sharp, elegant and has a subtle Asian influence that is well suited to the Kilrathi.

…Electronic Arts today released a ton of detail on the upcoming Command & Conquer Remastered Collection. It looks like an absolute treat for fans of the classic real time strategy game series. For starters, they've included developers who worked on the original game at Westwood Studios 25 years ago to build around the original core. All of the assets have been upgraded to 4K quality and the user interface has been modified to modern standards. The classic full motion video has been upscaled to match, and they even got the original composer back to remaster the music! It's set for release this June and will only be $20 on Steam and Origin. Even crazier, there will be a couple of super nice physical special editions produced by Limited Run games. The $60 version includes a poster, enamel pins and a Tiberium Crystal that also includes the soundtrack. For $150, you can get all of that plus patches,

…Hello!
We are excited to announce the release of the latest major update to No Man’s Sky today. We’re calling it the ORIGINS update and it’s out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (including VR).
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 years since we watched people all around the world wake up on their first planet in our near-infinite universe and embark on their voyage of exploration. That first planet might have been dangerous, barren, or teeming with life. For sure though, it would have been an intriguing alien world filled with curious flora and fauna, never seen before – not even by us, the developer.
That’s why it is so exciting to release NO MAN’S SKY: ORIGINS today. For the first time we are breathing new life and variety into that universe in a significant way, adding new worlds to explore, new planets never before seen, new life to discover.
For a surprising number of people, their voyage already has seen them

We're rewinding the clock back a few more years today with a classic article from the December 1991 issue of PC Games. The First and Final Frontier talks about the surge space-themed games hitting the market in the early 1990s, including Wing Commanders 1 & 2. There are a few other promising games of the day mentioned, but there are big throwbacks and comparisons to the WC series. It's also got some really funky early '90s art, which was also typical of the day.
