On steam are now ongoing nice discounts. Elite Dangerous is there with Horizons DLC for 5 EUR (-80%), and newest DLC Odyssey is for 24,5 EUR (-30%). In case of Odyssey is good to say that after quite rought start in May 2021 was game performance massively improved. There still are higher hardware needs when compared with Vanilla/Horizons, but possibility leave ship and play on foot is huge change for this game (at least for me it for sure was). There are also some really cool things planned for next year, but if you want to build your way through galaxy from the very bottom and start like a person searching his way to the stars, then there is a quite long way ahead
