I have done this 3 times now. I've killed the battleship and mothership 4 times. I've travelled the long distances 4 times. And *nothing* seems to trigger the event after king and juni travel through the gate. Anyone have any clues?
I've put up with enough wasted time on this campaign due to insanely long travel distances to eat a full meal (at my computer), have more than a couple of beers (Holsten, von Hamburg {not the planet}. Ist zehr gut.), and finish 2 chapters of the book I'm reading. Not being able to actually FINISH the single player campaign is... annoying.
Hmm. Tried it a 6th time. This time the battleship and mothership glitched and never showed up. However, I got the trigger for "now dock with the gate", and completed the Crossfire mission.
Sadly, I can't access any of the X-3043 gates at this time. They're all dead, as in you can't dock with them. Will try it in Open SP to see if it's a permanent glitch or something I can work around.

I'm giving up on the Crossfire mod. The graphics are great, yes. Kudos to the developers. Sadly, their idea of "level design" leaves a lot to be desired. Happy for them that so many people love the thing. Personally, given my recent experience with the single player campaign, it was painful. Exceedingly so, even for someone as stubborn as I am.
This bug is just the straw that breaks this camel's back. I'll go explore some other mods that provide extra content without being so annoying. I'd make suggestions for improvement, but reading forum posts shows that the developers really think they can do and have done nothing wrong. Ever. About anything. So goodbye. Congrats, you trolled me for a lot of hours.
Mate I just finished mine a while ago followed J&T to Ven gate get to gate I hit dock J&T went first I was told to wait in cue they dock I was told again to dock soon as I hit dock Orillion &Osiris movie cut in blow up BH I jumped to Manhattan. DONE
DID RESTART FROM MISSION SAVE 43 LAUNCH FROM RHINELAND BS.
Problem in 43 mission happens only bcs were not passed all mission triggers. Solve this problem is quite easy. Starting with undock with BS strictly follow missions orders, wait with travels till you are ordered to do so, use autopilot to destinations (F2) for all route and important: do not end travels earlier, always reach "end" travel point. On back route simply wait till you are ordered go back and again use autopilot (F2). Before Venn gate wait till both Juni and King docks and you are told dock too. I did this mission more times and once had the same problem. Solved like I described. This guide so far worked for everyone who had this problem.
I also want note that there is not any other working way that player need to follow "strictly" mission orders. Locked FL code do not allow any other way. With docking at Manhattan is ended campaign, it ends campaign script and player is free to use mod as in OpenSP. My personal recommendation is only do next after campaign ends: save your game and then load this save. After this there should be not any issues.

... well, I just now used my "End" SP save (done right after docked at Manhattan) and surprisingly all is working without problems = arrived to X, tried gates, got mission in station bar .. no issue detected. Next to this no one so far reported any issue with non-working X gates (after campaign end).
Use OpenSP after campaign end ofc have no effect, it only ends mission script, which at that moment should be already finished.
If I can guess, issues you have are coming with bugged mod installation and/or not following missions paths (quite critical thing for scripted missions). From my pov there really is nothing what can developers do here better. We also hardy can solve for you local issues where can be thousands different reasons why some things did not works, we only can offer advices and YOU must find out what is doing problem on your PC. This can sound harsh, but this is how it works and nothing what we can do will change these facts.
I have just finished for the night and all my X Gates work fine as well....
I got this issue once and figured it was a mission trigger. You are supposed to use Go To (F2) all the way on your way to Venn gate.
Before Juni and King dock, your ship should stop automatically, while you get the order to let Juni and King dock. Do NOT move your ship from that moment.
That is where I broke it. I approached the gate and waited for them to dock. After that, nothing happened.
Next time, I held my position as soon as my ship stopped (still quite some distance from the gate), and after Juni and King were gone, I was ordered to dock.
Then I got the final cutscene of Orillion flying the Osiris into the black hole and triggering the bomb.
After that, I was back on Manhattan with message finished story.
