The hard part is not to get killed until you leave the system or you will have to start mapping all over again.
I see... "exploring" the systems. Yes, that is definitely a fun challenge!

Only OP truly knew the level of pain he's inflicting on us pilots who enter the inner core.
I sometimes think that is his favorite part!
add another news item to search the DK space for wrecks
While I agree that some of the clues could be groomed a bit, I think you have your quests and/or space mixed up.
Heron and Menton are in Altair Sector. Weth is in the Inner Core Sector. They are completely different parts of Crossfire space.
The only way into the Inner Core is through the GMG Hypergate. The only way through the GMG Hypergate is the alien-killing quest in Devron. Before you go through the Hypergate, the bartender at the GMG station tells you to find the missing GMG pilots, and to bring them back, if you can.
So, by the time that you get to the Inner Core, you should already know that you are looking for GMG pilots. IIRC, there were four GMG pilots who went into the Inner Core before you.
If you follow the clues (often floating pieces of debris), you will find GMG wrecks. A couple of the wrecks contain life pods with GMG pilots who are still alive.

If "upwards of 400" = 450, then your friend's Starflier is working correctly.
But your Eagle is definitely wonked.
("Wonked" is a technical term meaning "messed up").
Normally, the launcher will update the Crossfire files, as long as you launch Crossfire while connected to the Internet. If the update happens correctly, then your Eagle should be repaired.
If launching while connected to the Internet does not fix your Eagle, then your Crossfire installation is wonked.
Custodian for me, too.
I left Manhattan, made a few runs to Pittsburgh, then went to Rochester looking for a Wasp. Stumbled onto the jump to Custodian and found a vast, apparently empty, system with a big-ass mine field in it.
Thought for a second and decided that a mine field that big must be hiding something good....
stay cool and do not preach to me
We're cool, Bond. At least I am. I was just pointing out a recurring theme.
In other words, I was saying the same thing you are... don't preach about about MP... just play the game.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys forget what it's like to play singleplayer.
Yeah, I think it is funny when people post here that MP is "more fun" than SP. It sounds like the words of people who have never learned to play SP well.
I think that both are fun -- but they are very different games. Like the difference between futbol and American football -- they are more different than similar -- in spite of having similar names.
Crossfire may exist because of MP, but there are far more SP players than MP, and there are good reasons for that.
.
you guys have problems *shakingthehead* - and now back to topic pls.
Wait... are you saying that this thread has a topic?
(other than boobs?)
I could be wrong, but I thought that OPR8R may have been trying to say something meaningful in his first post. Instead of letting him clarify his thoughts, a dozen other people jumped in with their own agendas.
I would like to hear what he has to say. Sometimes OP has a good idea, you know? (I could list a dozen off the top of my head... more if I thought about it).
Let the man speak.

inner core hostile aliens killed 0...SP pilot killed 498.
Do you think there's room for improvement or do you think I should try medication when engaging these aliens?
haha! Well, there is certainly room for improvement, uncleglennie, but you bring up a good point. The Outcasts are some of the toughest pilots in vanilla Freelancer, and they don't live long without their Cardamine masks.
So, yeah, medication may not be such a bad idea!
PS: Use The Force, unclegennie. Timing is everything.

so displaying boobs all over the forum will do the trick?
Personally, I like the new colors.
However, boobs are always good, so use your judgment, OP.
i wanted to lay down my job as SWAT administrator in december ...
This month i was in need to do a decision if i continue to host the server or if its better to cancel the contract.
I do not understand exactly what your primary goal is here, OPR8R.
Are you trying to sell the site? Looking for an admin? Looking for someone to take over your contract?
I'm totally confused about the GMG quest thingie.
Why did you enter the Inner Core in the first place?
Use an old Saved Game to go back to the GMG base in Omega3. Read the News and talk to the bartender. He will explain the Quest to you.
Depending on where you saved your games, you might have to go back as far as Utopia to kill aliens again, in order to re-set the mission.
Don't worry about going back to Utopia -- it will be easier for you this time, now that you have been through some tougher fights.
If you are not following the Quests, then you are missing half the fun!

inner core was meant to be source or cloaking equipment... but that has not been activated by me due to various reasons
yes, cloaking equipment would be a cool reward, as well!
Just curious about how to set back the Difficulty Scale in CF? For future reference.
PerfOptions.ini is in \My Documents\My Games\Freelancer. It contains Diificulty_Scale, as well as the options set in the F1 Options screen. The default is 1.0. If you want to make Coalition Rogues a serious challenge, then turn it up to 2.0.
But I am mostly kidding about setting Difficulty_Scale to 2, because most people find Crossfire challenging enough.
(Note that any adjustments that you make to any file are for SP only. Changes are not allowed in MP.)
.
No, they don't have lifespans, like... limited time... but it's pretty easy to make it done
It's a good idea.... cus all GMG wrecks are with newbie loot, or, as max some Diamondback MK II... and I mapped em all.
OP should see that idea
Even we're going good or bad... Ithink we should add somee group of ideas ike this
Cool.
Finding a wreck can take a very long time, so maybe the fuse could start when you rescue (tractor) a GMG pilot? That way, the player may have to choose between trying to find more pilots, or just getting back to the GMG station with the pilot(s) in his cargo hold?
I expected more of a "finish" for getting through the Inner Core... maybe ten million credits per pilot -- or a gunboat for rescuing all four -- something like that. I brought the pilots that I found back to the GMG base, as the Quest asked, and barely got a "thank you". I expected a little more for completing such a difficult Quest.
The Inner Core is amazing. A big "finish" would make it feel more "complete", but it is already an impressive addition to Freelancer as it is now.
.
Right, you did well, uncleglennie!
What's this about GMG Wrecks? Where in the Inner Core?
That is your quest, right? You are supposed to be looking for the GMG explorers (and try to bring them out alive, if you can).
However, as Spiky says... after all of the work in finding the wrecks (and surviving long enough to do so), the loot is a little disappointing. Unless I missed something, such as fuses on some of the pilots. In other words, not all of the pilots were still alive when I found them. It might feel more rewarding if they were, or if they had a limited lifespan so that rescuing them was a race against the clock.
Or, maybe they do have limited lifespans and I did not find them quickly enough?
I left the autosave and a manual save I'd done earlier.
1) You said that you exited in the middle of a cut scene. The Escape from Liberty mission has some precise requirements... if you exited at the wrong place in the mission, then you could have an invalid Autosave.fl.
As a test, try moving all of your saved games, including Restart.fl, out of your saved game folder. See if you can start a new game.
If you can, then it suggests that one of your saved games is bad. Then it is just a matter of adding them back, one by one, until you find the offending saved game.
2) A/V tools have trouble with Crossfire -- make sure that no Crossfire files are quarantined.
3) Don't worry about the Registry -- Freelancer does not keep anything important in there. FLMM does, but not Freelancer.
