And I already said that I agree that it is a better topic for the dev forum. What happened, did you forget to take your meds today?

We can let our ideas flow internally, don't ya think so?
I agree... but you started the public conversation, right?
I only responded to OP's comment. Anything else should be on the dev forum, as you say.
Sources were uploaded to dev forum
Not true, Huor. There is nothing on the dev forum from Crossfire at all.
The only "source" was public domain stuff -- and not even a current version of that.
And, anyway, you know better.
Developer Resources have file libraries, Subversion repositories, wikis, and private forums. Like the Starport Forge or Sourceforge:
haegar is the one doing the most coding work and the one who has to put the code samples together
As far as I can figure out, Haegar is the only person doing coding work, because the source is not available to anyone else. Several of us asked for it on the development forum, and you said "no".
There is a "development team" but no "development team resources" for most of us to work from.
There is nothing wrong with jflp. It is completely stable. And it is by far the best way to get wide screen support in Freelancer.
Here is another thread about jflp for Crossfire which includes a working DLL.
The only problem is the that the launcher overwrites the DLL, so the bottom line is that you still have to wait for OP to release the fixed version.
So guys how should I config *.ini files for 1920x1200.
The only thing to change is the fovx values in Cameras.ini. Fonts are unimportant because the *height* of your screen is only slightly taller than 1280 x 1024.
1900x1200 is 16:10. Either use the 16:10 values or, better, use jflp.dll.
Luckily, jflp.dll is built into Crossfire. Unfortunately, the version of jflp.dll in Crossfire is bugged, but OP has the fixed version.
So just bug OP to put the fixed version into the Launcher, and you will be done!
i have been thro most of the don kavash systems and i have flew back to the inner core
Oh!
Yes, that gate is only one-way. You must go all the way through DK space to find the exit.
...then dumps me back into the inner core
When you say that it dumps you back into the "inner core", exactly which system do you enter? Check the Nav Map for the name of the system.
If you mean that the jump takes you to Hyperspace (the red, swirly system), then you have to navigate through Hyperspace to the exit jump hole.
Or answered any of our questions?
John, you probably have something simple wrong, because Freelancer runs well on a wide variety of hardware. However, in order to help you, you have to give us more information. And it is important that you try the things that we suggest.
So please try to give us as much of the following information as you can:
- Have you tried deleting (or renaming) your saved games folder? (on Win7 I think it is Docs\My Games\Freelancer).
- Have you tried creating a new character?
- Have you tried setting Feelancer's processor Affinity to a single cpu?
How to Set Processor Affinity on Windows 7
- Please describe what you mean about being booted. Describe exactly what happens, and what steps it takes to reproduce the error.
- Are there any error messages? If so, then please take a screen shot and post it.
Hello I have a question on what can I do to have my crossfire freelancer game fill the screen. I have my res set to 1920X1080, and the game can't go that high what can I do also as soon as I logged on to the server I got booted like that, what is the reason?
Crossfire has a widescreen feature built in, but it is not currently working. Someday the launcher will download an update that will make it work for you.
*****************************************************************************************************************
(If you want to hurry things along, then unzip the attached file and put the jflp.dll in your EXE folder (\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE). Overwrite the existing file. When you restart Crossfire, you should be able to choose a widescreen resolution.)
******
EDIT: I tested this file before I posted, and I thought that it worked. After further testing, I see that the launcher overwrites the fixed jflp.dll.
So, unfortunately, it means that you will probably have to wait for the official update.
*****************************************************************************************************************
Regarding being booted as soon as you connect to the server, a common reason for that is a bad saved game file. You said that you just installed Freelancer, but has Freelancer ever been installed before?. If it has, then you may have saved game files. Delete (or rename) the Freelancer folder under My Documents\My Games then try again.
If you still have problems, then give us a more complete explanation of the steps you have taken and exactly how and when you get booted.
Does anyone know a way to make the Mod run in a window, i like alternating between a few programs at the same time, and since i only play SP, its not gonna be a problem on any server.
Pausing and Windowed mode are intentionally disabled in Crossfire because they cause trouble in MP.
If you really need to use windowed mode then you will have to replace Freelancer.exe. But that causes some problems, because Crossfire's Freelancer.exe is modified from the original. For example, visibility limits are increased dramatically in Crossfire, which is what allows you to see a jump gate or jump hole at long range. With the vanilla Freelancer.exe you would lose that ability, which is important to the game. There are other changes as well. And, of course, it messes up the launcher, so that it is impossible to play MP if you do this.
In other words, it is not easy, no.
A better solution is to simply Alt-Tab away from Crossfire. On my machine that sometimes causes a troublesome graphical artifact, so I keep Process Explorer (a fancy task manager) running and open on a second screen. Process Explorer allows me to easily select my Crossfire (or other) window(s) if the icon(s) is(are) obscured.
Would 9/11 have happened if someone had leaked 19 names and plastered them all over the internet? Do you think those 19 guys would have continued with their plan of terror if they knew they were on watch lists? We needed Mr. Assange and WikiLeaks 10 years ago.
While I agree about the shadow governments and the idea that our governments deserve to have better public oversight, it is hard to know what might or might not happen with intelligence information. If those names and pictures had been published, would the source(s) of the information have been compromised? How many good assets might have been killed, and how much less intelligence information would we have in the future?
And, of course, 19 is a small number. Expose 19, and 190 will step up to take their place.
So I do not see it as a black-or-white issue. Some of the people who provided information to wikileaks may have committed treason. That's pretty bad. But Assange himself? What he does is both good and bad at the same time. Hence the controversy.
same problem with most bases and planets level 6 weapons and above even with max value friendly
message reads
You must be on friendlier terms to buy this item
OK, well, it is not supposed to do that. As I said, neutral or one green bar is usually sufficient. A few of the best weapons require near-max friendliness, but it is rare.
You are not the only person to report this sort of thing, although it is not common. Unfortunately, I don't know a good solution other than trying a different character.
I've grinded missions for 10k a pop
...I need to be on friendlier terms with factions I'm already at max rep with.
...Licenses are even more expensive, whatever they actually do.
The big money in bar missions is not the direct payoff. It is in selling tractored pilot pods to prisons.
The issue about not being able to buy weapons has been mentioned before, but I have not yet seen a complete report. Specifically which weapon at which location? For most weapons, you only need to be neutral or slightly above. Sometimes you also must have a high enough rank, which comes from earning more credits.
Licenses are for your role play. You will need them later, but probably not yet. Read up on the Role Play rules for more info.
The quickest ways to earn credits early in the game are in finding the few high payoff trade routes, and in selling pilot pods to prisons. You should soon be able to buy a better ship, which will help you when battling NPC's.
its the top 100 of all mods worldwide
the 100 most favorite ones
Yeah, that is what I thought. It is a bit weird, especially since Freelancer is an older game that never had released modding tools.
Oh, well... I voted, and good luck!
Am I understanding ModDB correctly? Are they really trying to measure "top" mods without categorizing by the game (or game category)? It seems odd, like comparing "Best Restaurants" and comparing 5-star restaurants with diners and burger joints.
If there were a category for "top Freelancer mods" then Crossfire would be a cinch for a top-5 placement, and the competition would be more interesting.
how do i know how sexy outfits, or different huds or particles look like?
Sexy Outfit 1 = Short red skirt
Sexy Outfit 2 = Low-cut Blue Top (my fav)
Huds: Try the standard Crossfire HUD. It is a little different than vanilla Freelancer but still looks nice.
Particles: This option changes the color of the little dots inside a trade lane ring when it activates.
Reactivation is not super difficult, so you can try different options in 5-10 minutes. But, yeah, I agree that screen shots of the of graphical changes would help new players.
