  • How's the RP and PvP these days?

    First impessions after a few battles :


    After I participated in a few battles already I decided to share my opinion.


    Missles spam still exists even though we have cooldown on missles now. People are rarely using guns 1v1. Guns are only being used in big fights where you can track someone who is fighting another person. When missles refuse to track ( we all know it happens ) people are quitting the fight.


    If you are fighting 2v1, and you're the only person in this case, your "Incoming missle" and "Incoming torpedo" alerts will be the only thing you will hear.


    When fighting 1v1, having even simple guns skills will be your key to victory. I noticed that people aren't even trying to dodge anymore. It's easy to dodge missles when you fire CDs but don't even think about dodging weapons.


    Could add a few more, but at the moment I`m being distracted, but I`ll for sure continue after that :)

    Seems like you had tons of fun ^^ I was outside with a friend and didn't manage to take part, my apologies for that. Looking forward to the next 'operation', hopefully I`ll be able to get some weapons :P

  • A question about the new weapons

    Hi guys,


    I have a really quick and simple question about the new weapons avalaible in game. Here are a few details and I really hope that you will be able to give me the answer I`m looking for :


    The weapon's projectile is like the Rheiland's weapons which are level 7. Green stream of light. The sound is like a machine gun. I know that they are either some kind of different Coaliton Gattlings, which I doubt or they are some new alien weapons. Also, could you please post some additional info as I think about bringing some old school PvP skills and guns build ;)

  • Basic Rules, Tips and Tricks For Beginners?

    The good thing about Crossfire that I've always loved when creating a new char without credits is that the Very Heavy Fighters from the vanilla version of the game can be found almost EVERYWHERE. In each and every added system ( systems that you can go into from X-3043 ), on each and every station that is not selling any added by the mod ships, you can find Eagle, Titan and Sabre.


    As for beginning you can spend some time in Liberty/Bretonia/Rheiland so you can get at least 800K-1 mil credits. After that you can make your way to X-3043 which is definitely not hard and get yourself a nice Eagle to fly with. I`m suggesting the Eagle as it's the perfect ballance between weapons slots and maneuverability, Titan is strong but slow, Sabre has a lot of guns slots but it's still not as good as Eagle. You will purshase the Eagle for around 500K and here comes the best part :


    You will go to Arena, dock on the planet, and find ALL the weapons in the lvl range 1-9. This is great because you wont even need a good reputation with the faction to get their weapons ;)

    After you get yourself some weapons and shields you can go at Freeport 7 and kill some nomads for Nomads Weapons. But, be careful, the damn bastards are hitting hard D:


    Or, if you want codename weapons you can either - ask some player if he/she has some for sale, kill ASF/CSF ships in X ( they hurt even more than the nomads ), farm the wrecks :)

    EDIT : A few words about the Shroud :


    The Shroud was, is and will be one of the best ships in Crossfire. It's great for PvE and PvP because of it's agility ( which I think got a bit nerfed in 1.7 because of complaints how fast it was ) and it's weapons slots. I`m using Shroud for around 4 years now and I can say that it's a great ship ! :thumbup:

  • name change for in game

    Renaming is possible.


    However the database or where the names are stored isn't changing the original name. In-game your name is changed but if a player tries to PM you or send you a squad invite to your new char name, it wont work. At least that's what I saw when I used to run a server.

    Thanks for the post! I`m yet to find out how to get friendly with DKs etc. I haven't visited Altair for 2 years now lol. I only remember that the jump hole from Sol was at C4 but from then on I`m a dead man walking :D


    Redemption ? Is that a new ship or something ? VHF, HF etc ?


    Jeez, I just remembered the days when meeting a coalition ship was a nightmare :D :D After that we got friendly with them and finally visiting Sovetskaya wasn't a pain :P 8).
