    Hello,
I have just discovered that voting consists of two steps this time!

    1. Press the green button on CF Moddb page.
    2. Click "VOTE" near Crossfire logo in the white Freelancer tab - only after that your vote is submitted.

Hope you don't miss the 2nd step like I did at first :S

    Hello hipogriff and welcome back!

You asked how things were going - well, the server gathers up to 30 players, we have fun and events almost every day, a huge progress in creating Crossfire wiki is being made, and, of course, everyone is looking forward to CF 2.0 release :) From a negative aspect one can mention clans' inactivity and ASF/CSF roleplay being completely forgotten, but let us see what the new RP system brings about.

    Hello,
in this matter I prefer to consult my friend who works with hardware and is quite a geek himself - he was also my main source of PC parts for some years :D Now I am helping him to get rare pieces from the cities around where I live.

My own PC is of nothing special performance-wise, but passive cooling is used on all components and HDD is replaced with SSD. The result is high energy efficiency and completely silent operation - that's what I am most happy about :) In fact there is a huge gap between this silence and any "quiet" PC you take, even if the quietest HDDs/fans or water cooling systems are used. Once you feel this difference you will never turn back, and I dare to think this will be the future of home PCs some day.

    Hello Carlo,
welcome to SWAT community and hope you find some time to join the server as well - see you in space then!

    Hello Captain Walker,
having seen you in space already, I can still say "welcome to SWAT community".

    Hello,
please find a couple of FL-related images (concept art) here - http://www.filedropper.com/introconceptart
+ you might also like the works of these artists:

We had the album with this song on a self-copied tape cassette, my brother even bothered to draw the green "Gorillaz" logo for the paper inlay :) Anyway I didn't like that music much... But now it brings memories.

Try this (was lucky to find it, the tracks I really like are usually absent on youtube or present in an unbearable quality):

    Quote from Ajay

He doesn't know what private channel is.

    :bomg:
    Private Chat Explained !

    • Press Y on your keyboard to open chat window (or click the icon in the top right part of the screen):

      <--- click to enlarge

    • The window is split vertically into 2 parts: the right half shows your message log, while on the left you can see the list of channels - this is what you need. That list includes Group Channel, System Channel (default) and Private Channels (these are simply all players who are currently connected to the server).
Now use the mouse to select the player you want to speak with - just click on the corresponding line:

      <--- click to enlarge

    • Press Enter and type your message. Note that the addressee name and the text you are typing have green color now (unlike when you are using System Channel abd they are in pale blue).

      <--- click to enlarge

    • Press Enter again to send your message. It will immediately appear at the bottom of your message log on the right part of chat window, and the selected player will receive the same green-colored message with your nickname in front of it - no matter in which system he is.

      <--- click to enlarge

    • That's it! :) Now you can speak to any player in any system at any time!

    Extra notes:

    • you may close the chat window right after having selected a channel - from then on, same channel will be used for all messages you want to send
    • you may cycle between channels right when typing a message - just press arrow keys "↑" and "↓" and you will notice the addressee name changing; this way you don't need to open chat window at all (unless you want to check the message log)

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks Michael!

To Denne: wow, didn't know I participated in something - was just trying to help Huor in the first place...
But now I understand what your comments were about :) It is your choice whether to give me the prize - one can hardly say if there really was an event.

Altair Sector (Coalition Space) = 21 systems per hour.
    [expander]

[/expander]I excluded remote systems like Kalinin or Guangdong, as well as DK territory, so in real conditions the count can be times lower.

So far I can say for sure that when "Texture Detail" is set to minimum, one gets white textures on Coalition fighter ships, Vanpelt's outfit (my MP character) and some parts of landscape.
The images attached below were made just a minute ago (the 3rd picture is Planet Baden-Baden landing sequence).

P.S. Are white 8-bit-style square explosions also abnormal? I can make screenshots of that too if needed...

    Hello,
if you mean problems like these
    index.php?page=Thread&threadID=31360
    index.php?page=Thread&threadID=25806
    index.php?page=Thread&threadID=22529
I think people who suffered them would not keep playing CF with white textures (considering that the problem occurs on the latest powerful graphic cards capable of much more than CF), therefore they don't visit SWAT Portal very often and haven't replied in this thread yet.

As a suggestion - if the problem is compatibility mode self-activating on new GPUs, how about making two downloads for CF 2.0 - one for older cards and one for newer, without low-resolution textures included. One may suppose it would be technically impossible for the game to run with low-quality graphics when only HQ textures are present... Although I'm just speculating. :S
