See you in Arena system at 20:45 servertime!
Strange is that after that at EVERY following launcher start it reports updates available and updates 80 files each time.
Tried 5 times and always the same. Is this normal?
Yep, this is normal. The launcher synchronizes your client with the server every time, as required for the dynamic universe feature and anti-cheat functions.
Hello,
there are many versions of the New York system in single player, replacing one another as the story progresses. Some of them do not contain the Custodian gate. I don't remember when exactly it should appear, but It will certainly be in place when the story is finished or when OpenSP option is activated.
Hope this helps...
Inserted but still same error
Strange. Could you check your card's ID with the attached utility and post the result here?
Does your PC/laptop have dual graphic adapters?
Wait, what is Crossfire?
Oh i see it now, its a mode for FL. Do i need to have it installed ?
No, sorry, I just assumed you were trying to play Crossfire. Didn't check the forum section.
The procedure is the same for vanilla FL - just replace the text file in the /EXE subdirectory.
Hello steins,
try putting the attached file to your Crossfire Freelancer\EXE folder.
Then tried on the even older laptop, win7 US english machine with same installer files used before - and et voila here it works!??? No IDS? For any item?
What could be the issue on my win 10 machines?
Hello Doomlord,
try comparing the contents of the Crossfire folder on Win 7 laptop vs the contents of the Crossfire folder on Win 10 machines.
This will probably give you the answer.
Or, if you just need to get the game working, copy the folder from laptop to other PCs (after CF has been installed on them as well).
Hope this helps!
There have been a lot of autobans recently. Could they be related to the changes that were made?
Onwards and upwards!
While waiting for the start, we mounted a forward gun and extra turrets on a Celestis DN...
SWAT_OP-R8R : This is about "Disable desktop composition" option enabled in CF shortcut properties (see the picture). It disables Aero themes and changes the color scheme to Windows 7 Basic.
Hausgeist : No worries, this is normal.

That would help a huge lot
Huor It is about the game itself. Or, precisely, about one of two Freelancer exes in process list which uses more RAM.
Since FL is single-thread only it can only utilize one core/thread at a time. No matter how many you select only one is used.
By default all cores are selected to give the system a choice where to run it.
FL is single-threaded, but this thread is always assigned to execute on Core #0 by default (contrary to last statement above).
Sometimes, soon after launching MP, the Freelancer.exe process starts to stress this core at 100%, and the game becomes laggy. That can be fixed by setting the CPU affnity for Freelancer.exe to all cores in the Task Manager. After this change, the CPU remains stressed by the amount corresponding to 1 logical core (e.g. 12.5% load on my 4C/8T CPU), but the load jumps continuosly from one core to another as seen in the Task Manager. The game runs smooth then, even though the CPU load is the same.
This high CPU usage does not occur every time, but often starts on next MP launch after a game crash, after logging out in space or after switching IDs. It was especially bad in CF 1.9 (high CPU load almost every time) and became much rarer in CF 2.0. Also, it is different from the normal CPU usage by Freelancer: normally the load drops to nearly 0% when the game is minimized, but in these cases it always stays at maximum.
Hope this clarifies what Apache was talking about.
