    I am still pleased with myself. I have been trying for ages. I knew that it was only 1.9 that I had completed and that the story was to continue in 2.0
    perhaps i should have stated the obvious in my orginal post.

    I am on a high at the moment as i have just completed the SP game.


    I have a question - when entering and flying in the first two inner core systems, what was the music that was playing???
    the tracks were brilliant.


    also, is there any timeline for the release of MOD 2.0, and will current save games be compatible with it (i wouldn't think so, but had to ask)

    i have completed it several times with a light or heavy fighter. PM me and we can sort something out. but really, all you need is practise as everyone advises.

    i am assuming that you are playing the SP game. the hyperion gate will deny you access, but, when you have completed the race against hovis and escaped from leeds, then you can go through the hyperion gate.


    beware what you wish for. once in coalition space you will find an altogether different level of difficulty from the NPC's however, have fun and save your game BEFORE commiting yourself to certain actions.

    hi nicknock, you seem to have done all the initial stuff correctly. many of us have experienced the same problems.


    all i can recommend, and you probably don't really want to hear it, is to do a clean install of everything again.
    i would recommend that you uninstall everything so far and make sure that nothing is left on your computer, fragments are sometimes left behind.
    then re-download the CF mod and the mod manager v1.31 from this forum. do a clean install of your Freelancer disk, don't play it.
    install mod manager v1.31, don't play it. open and extract the CF mod then install it using mod manager. with all so far ensure that you set compatibility to win xp.


    the above is how i eventually got the mod going. after all that effort i can tell you that it will be worthwhile in the end.

    @michael...........u and a friend seems to have solved my problem........HEAT


    silly thing really my laptop was sited on a white coloured desk, now i have put a black mat on the desk and the problem i had seems to have resolved itself.
    it was probably the white colour reflecting back the heat, whereas the black mat absorbs the heat.


    wierd really, but thank you all for educating me, this old duffer. LOL

    happens to me also, on my laptop, which is also more powerful than my desktop. on the laptop i am running windows 7 64 bit. on the desktop am running windows 7 32 bit.
    don't really know if there is any connection.


    however, my solution was/is to land somewhere, then come out of the game and reboot the laptop and then reconnect. i have no such problems with the desktop.


    try it and see if it temporarily resolves the situation. i woulld be interested in hearing about your results.

  • NEW PLAYERS to the SP game. do you need help with the "difficult portions"????

    i always read the "help me" posts in the forum, and where possible give advice as i see fit.


    what i am offering now, may be what you need! i have completed the vanilla game and the modded SP game several times now and kept them all for possible future use.
    if you want to sent me your AutoSave file of the "difficult" section of the game, i will gladly attempt to resolve the problem and send it back to you. alternatively you can
    request one of my own files with the problem already resolved.


    just PM me with your request and supply an e-mail address that can accept a file attachment and i will do my best to accommodate you.


    unfortunately i only speak and read English, so please bear this in mind. i apologise to you multi-lingual members out there, but i am too old now to change my ways.

    so welcome back Dust Devil.


    one piece of advice, other than what Martind has given to you, would be to try the Single Player game for a while. it will give you the time to get about and get back into the groove. be aware
    that the NPC's are a lot stronger now and that they refresh their bats and bots.


    whichever you decide to do, have fun and i look forward to seeing you in space. you can, of course, rely on me to help out whenever you see me online.

    yeah.....i also have had that problem, though at a different station. all u can do is wait for the server to do it's daily update and the problem should disapear.


    not much consolation i know, but as you say "live and learn", shit happens sometimes, so easy come easy go huh.


    keep enjoying the mod though.

    hmmmmm........very impressive effects. i like to keep an open mind.


    i am one of those people who do not believe that we humans are the only life in the universe. there are billions of planets quite capable of sustaining life, why should we be the only ones???


    an awful lot of what was once science fiction has now become science fact.


    anyways let us see what happens and pray that any extra terrestrial intervention in the future is at least benign.

    good grief,,,anything was better than Caprica. i was so disappointed with that.


    when i said i hate prequels, i meant that i much prefer a linear storyline. prequels are afterthoughs, having seen that the original series was so successful. typical example is the star wars films, why couldn't they have started with episode 1, instead of starting at episode 4.


    the same thing is happening with the Alien francaise, prometheus is a prequel.


    anyway that was my thoughts on the subject
