Pirates chars do not need an {X}, they need to have a Pirates Syndicate License mounted on their ships.

Even so - I would still prefer (freelancer) pirates to include an X in their name so I know what they are once i see them on the scanner or system chat.

The pirates dont have to do that cos in the RP rules - it does not mention it - an oversight?

Nevertheless I would appreciate a simple X in your name as that would help me steer clear

Pirate Clans dont need an X in their name once their RP is established and publicised as such.

Otherwise someone called FoodRationTrader could become the most deadliest pirate on the seas.

Correct. This is not new knowledge or some revelation here.

Thanks to all the recent pirates I see, who have complied with these rules.

I have run into at least 2 of these unmarked Freelancer pirates....and killed both. Since they asked for a tax, I assumed they were pirates, but how does one treat those freelancers who seem to open up for no reason and fail to follow the server rules (posted and not posted)?

Kudows to both LP and CFPD players I have run into who do play their characters so well. I have been "SFB'd" and "argggged" many a time; both camps did it well and within their clans stated rules. Thank God I was either not hauling or dirt poor... :]
