Clanjumpers and other ppl acting with dishonour

[w00t] From my first day on CF, clan membership was something not to be taken lightly. It's not just a club, not just a place to hang your hat in between fights, but a family of sorts, knit together by weathering adversity and prosperity together, and encouraging one another to better yourselves, while enjoying each others' differences and company.

I took my time adjusting to the concept of sharing the responsibility of clan membership, because it meant that, no matter how free the members are to act independently, they still have a duty to help one another. "To whom much is given, also much is required", as the saying goes. No community can last long, if it does not have "pillars" to support the infrastructure. On CF, as every other server, those pillars are the clans, and the dedicated members within them. No surprise, then that, loyal clan members should get first consideration for support, and those who abandon their clans find themselves without support.

i have no right to post in this thread as i am not in a clan anymore. it was a very hard choice to leave them but i had to as the server they where on was s**t, and i missed CF.

i have been asked many times to join a new clan since i came back and have had to say no every time as i dont feel it right just to join unless i could put my all into that clan.

this is something i carnt do at the moment not cos i dont like the clans that are asking but cos i need to work my way back into CF. i feel i need to prove to myself and others that i am a good member of this community.

anyone that is in a clan now should think long and hard about why they would leave. if there is a problem in your clan help to sort it. leaving just makes you look like you dont care and you run from every little thing.

at anyone that is thinking of joining a clan, make sure there RP is what you want. make sure you like the ppl that are in the clan. this way you will have a lot more fun, and be less likly to leave after a couple of weeks.

I admit that I left the DC when it needed all the help it could get, but I don't care what anyone says of it. I apologized to those who deserved it and even apologized for things that I shouldn't even be sorry about. For my sincerety and honesty I am forgiven by most. Just because I don't wear the tag anymore doesn't mean that I can't support the clan, and pay the utmost respect and kindness towards the helping hands, those of friends, who forged my present skills for combat and fortune. Maybe you think that I'm a coward without honor... a deserter of those trusting me and perhaps even an underminer of this community, but I refuse to feel guilty for even a second about what I've done. There are others who have left their former clans who don't deserve to be jaded for it either; I understand your frustration with the situation though and won't argue it. I have no ill feelings towards you OP and hope to be of service to you whenever you may be in need of it. Sorry for replying, but certain things are very hard to read without wishing to add in something. I post not to defend my image, but because I want to know something... Do you really hate me OP? Do you hate Carbine, Cyber, and all the other good people who just happen to have something in common with the bad apples? There's enough bad-will going around in the world as it is... can't we just leave it all behind when we sit down behind these screens and come together to play this marvelous game?

I'll never forget what my old clan has done for me they don't have an easy way on the road at the moment but i'll try to help them where i can cause they helped me when had alot of problems and now i can help them

I understand sometimes people in the heat of the moment want to join the first clan they have at hand. However, people always should think twice (even 3, 4, so on) before joinning a clan. To be part of a clan is a commitment you made and responsability you have to take on. When you take a desicion to be part of clan is like you decide to be part of a family. Plus, when you get into the inner circle, you will get into the deppest trust of that clan and you will learn every bit out of impotant info from that clan. Plus, at that point, the clan itself has put too much work on you to be the best you could be not only for them but to the community itself. Also clans (guilds, squad, whatever you call it for online games) are the fundamental bases for a game community. We play online to share with other pleople, get involve and stablish new friends through the world of the internet. When clans (guilds, squad, whatever) gets weak also the community where that clan is in will get weak itself.

To be in a clan has the priviledges but priviledge comes with responsability and respect. I havent been in a clan here but i have been in squads and guilds in other games and believe me, it is a big responsability but it is also fun cause you get to do things you could not do it alone plus you participate in bigger things that involve the community itself and indeed I enjoyed to be part of it more than when I was playing alone. As for the goods and bads things, well, It could get pretty nasty m8s and I found out that many of the reason why people leave is cause lack of communication and understanding. There also many important factors that involve the building of clan but I wont mention that now cause i dont want to hurt anyone feelings (like pointing the finger looking for the guilty)

However I have to mention some of the main Ingredients to build a good clan: Strong Leadership, Good Communication, Big Responsability, Loyalty, Strong Commitment, Respect, Active RP...

i cant help but think some of OP's comments may be aimed, maybe not directly at me, at UAC and our recent "restructuring".

I "left" UAC for a few days over a personal issue that was finally resolved, virtually every server and non server clan invited me to join within the next 24 hrs.
i politely declined as i had no intention of joining another clan because my loyalties ly with UAC. until the issues where resolved i vowed to stay a freelance, until such a time that i felt we could move forward with UAC.

i dedicate an "unhealthy" amount of my time to this server, community and my clan, and to new ppl that look in on this server for a new experience, as you know.

my opinion is that people are free to make thier own choices, in life and here. we cannot force people to do something they do not enjoy, or to stay in a certain place if certain issues have no resolve. that is a choice THEY have to make, be it a good or bad one. Cyb3r left us for good reasons, and i understand that. he still has friends and loyalty towards UAC and is allways supportive. the kind of people that belong on this server. good people.

please correct me if im wrong in my assumptions OP.
if i am wrong, OP, we should all try and help this "dying" clan, after all we ALL play here, we all have freinds here. and we should ALL do our utmost to ensure the survival of any clan on Crossfire.

Dopp Op is talking about DC, about me Drakon and Dragoness.

There is a point in his words. Although no DC member will speak ill of me because of my jump to CFPD. I will reconsider my actions and if i get some support i'll return to DC.

I'm currently disscusing the matter with pc_force and some others. If there is a chance for DC, and if my return will really help, then I'll do it.

I really hope DC doesnt dis aprear from the new version of Crossfire. I cant speak for all the members of that clan, but, I did have a chance to get to know Dragoness.
a few days ago Dragoness asked me for a transfer of equip and even though i'm LP, I agreed to help. At that time I didnt see any DC on the server so i helped.

When I helped Dragoness i had no idea DC was a Dying clan.
In light of this bad news i will lend a hand to any DC member so long as my kindness is not abused "within my power that is"

i knew who i wanted to join when i joined the ser, LP all the way because ive always been a pirate its the wenches you see, wenches and rum, im addicted to it, i feel like a rock star.

i think everyone has a bad moment or 2 no matter what clan they are in, but they should remember, especially if being a pirate, that your clan, are the clan that look after your interests, and are your freinds. If your not freinds with them, then think what and why your not, give them time and yourself a breathing space, dont rush into leaving. i think, the lightheartedness of LP makes it such a nice easygoing clan to be in. and one where we have retained many members because we are such a cool and freindly clan and we RP are butts off as much as poss.

ehem... there concludes my shameless plug for LP Pirate clan

From the name of DC - we appritiate the help you offer, but the problem is not in "matterial" things, not the money, equipment and so on. What we need is ... members. What i keep hearing is that our members have no fun cause no other DCs are playing. Thats true. Its fun to play with your clan m8s no doubd about that. Command staff should care about its members and find them what to do, make some fun for them aswell however we dont atm. For different reasons we are not active so our members are pretty much on their own so they are right to complain from us. If we are there things will get better eventually. However evry clan member of any clan out there feeling dully for one reason or other should realize, that noone will make him have that much fun as he can do to himself. Point is you should think about, what to do to make it fun playing ofcourse trying to avoid spoiling the fun of the rest. What you you want to do to have fun? You have the mod, you have the friends out there. Those who think that making their own clan, clan switching or going back to freelancing would change anything they are wrong. It would be all the same for you and bad for your clan. Nobody profit from that. True - clan leaders can improve your fun and playing however they wont find you what to do all the time, thats why you should think about that and find how to have fun out there. Afterall we are all playing cause of the fun isnt it?

DC guys, if this is about you guys, then i would like to comment on how i see your clan as an outsider...

I do see you guys online, only 1 at a time, but you do have some presence which is a lot better then hardly any presence. I still dont know what roleplay you do. mostly i see you guys doing pvp, and your all good fighters, and freindly. but i know not the purpose of the clan. maybe that is an issue, i dont know, im just trying to help you to understand your image from outside.

also, as a recruiter for LP i talk to a lot of people as potential LP recruits, if they are not of a pirate nature and not willing to join, but are looking for a clan, i can put in a good word for you. i will need to know what RP you guys do though.
