Big Lag on server

  • I remembered why I rarely play MP because I have lag 99% of the time spent on the server and min. 30% of the time the game is literally unplayable. Now maybe it's my geographic location, maybe it's my ISP, although I don't have problems with other games, for example. Dota2, LOL, CS2, War zone with the simultaneous use of Discord, all competitive games that require a good ping (my son plays most of them, he says that his pings are good. I personally only play Dota, also excellent pings). It is less likely that it is my computer because my FPS is always above 140. When I ping in the game most of the time it is over 100, while the fluctuation is at least 20 and the packet loss is over 10%. Now I know that a good server is expensive and that maybe people who spend time on it should donate a little more and that I shouldn't complain about something that is literally free to me. Maybe the server is good, but for some reason I can't use it to the maximum, so maybe someone has a solution for my problem. And I also wonder if other people in the community have a similar problem.

  • run this command

    "tracert 85.93.88.94"

from what I can see there is a connection issue somewhere close to the server

  • I would take a look at the first two entries. 192.168.2.1 is your router and 192.168.1.1 is your modem or a second router with a modem? Either way, describe your network setup in more detail.

  • Ok first two is local network in most cases actually in 99.9% its 1 ms only the first run of the test is high naturally. You r right it's DSL router conected to another router in my workshop where is computer thry PLA it's hard line not wireless as you can see in most of the cases my local network run fine but this hop 9 is 99% down. I dont think my LAN cousing the problem but im open to sugestions. Here fresh test

    1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.1

    2 4 ms 2 ms 4 ms 192.168.1.1

    3 17 ms 18 ms 16 ms 178.220.0.1

    4 17 ms 17 ms 16 ms 212.200.176.9

    5 20 ms 20 ms 20 ms 212.200.7.70

    6 21 ms 21 ms 19 ms beg-b2-link.ip.twelve99.net [62.115.161.34]

    7 32 ms 33 ms 34 ms win-bb2-link.ip.twelve99.net [62.115.140.138]

    8 40 ms 43 ms 40 ms ffm-bb2-link.ip.twelve99.net [62.115.138.22]

    9 * * * Request timed out.

    10 46 ms 47 ms 45 ms 80.95.153.134

    11 48 ms 47 ms 50 ms static-ip-80-86-86-8.inaddr.ip-pool.com [80.86.86.8]

    12 47 ms 49 ms 52 ms malta2462.startdedicated.de [85.93.88.94]

as you can see local is fine but hop 9 again fails
    Do you need more details?

  • This way it looks better instead of 303ms now only 4ms.

But I also have a time out on the 7th hob. But CF works normally without lags. Why don't you try connecting your PC directly to the modem/router?

  • No cos the main WDSL router is on the other side of house however i can connect my computer directly to the PLA and use second router as repeater. I dont think my network configuration is a problem but ill try that. All that is equipment set by my ISP and i can't change that even if this is a shitty equipment.

  • Maybe it will all change when i get optic network right now its 350 meters from my home but like everything in this country process is slow and i dont think ill get anything before i "greese" them up some how or found a "guy" who pulls the strings if you know what i mean

  • i dont think that shader can cause connection issues

I don't think that also but there is a fact that when using opengl shader my pings where rly bad and fluctuating but when i changed to dx shader where good. It's possible that the change itself affected it, I haven't tried to go back to opengl again, I'll try tonight when I get home from work. Believe me, I didn't believe when I switched that it could affect network problems, but somehow it worked. In any case, I will gladly go back to opengl because it looks really good and I will use it for sure when I play SP, great job indeed. I am not an IT expert and my knowledge in that field is more or less basic, I leave it to the real experts to analyze the problem if you consider it necessary. In the end it's obviously just my problem so it doesn't really matter.

Ok genuine twilight zone i did clean reinstall of game both of them. Problem remains opengl option lags as hell but other works smooth. I tried to install CF on much slower computer on the same network to confirm if its the local nerwork problem well i got surprised game i mean MP works without any lags on opengl option pings are super good. Now other games works also with good pings on my main machine like LOL,Dota2,CS2,GTA online i checked my self all of them i only play Dota2 and CF sometimes Mass Effect Andromeda but most of the games is network dependent and all work great. I rly don't know where the F**** problem is i am rly pissed. That is why i rarely enter MP and stick to SP once you see how great game looks on opengl you can't get back to old looks :D Sorry if i bother you with my problem but i neaded to share my pain with you guys
BTW Happy Easter to you all !!! I think this year it's on the same day for both Orthodox and Catholics.

  • the question remains if it is still a connection issue between the server and your router

  • Why don't you retire the Powerlan adapter?

and connect your computer directly to your router using a LAN cable.

Power lans are suspected of being responsible for strange network problems. That's what my professional experience tells me, because most of our customers with network problems use PowerLan: Power lan removed and even multiroomaudio works again.

CF is not free of lags, not even for me, but it is easy to play.

  • First of all it's imposible to connect my computer directly to the router cos is too far. When my internet provider provide me with optical internet ill tell them to place main router to the game-workshop room. Second why is that happening only when i try opengl option but runs smooth on directx. I know that powerline adapter is not elegant solution it was primarily intended to transmit iptv to my bedroom, but in the meantime I arranged a workshop in another room and installed computers and a router there that I got to extend the wifi signal, it uses dual band 5g and 2.4g signal and also its wan can work wirelessly and on a hard connection. I need a LAN cable about 30 meters long and I would have to drill holes in the walls to bring it to the room, so I simply resorted to an easier solution using a PLA device, so far I have had no problems. although I could transfer the computer and connect it directly to the main router and use the TV as a monitor to try, but I gave up because I tried a much weaker computer on the same network configuration as the main one and it works perfectly on the opengl option. Which leads to the conclusion that the problem is either with my network adapter on the motherboard or with windows. Unfortunately, I will have to reinstall the operating system
