It's different, I used to be able to choose equipment and choose a slot that later only offers me compatible for that slot, now I only see numbers instead of the name of the equipment. It will take me a while to learn to use it, but it definitely looks better and is drastically faster. I run it directly from the folder where I clicked on the last version.exe found the save game folder and put the path to the game.

Now it's even worse, I gave up after a couple of hours of fighting with Ghost and Greystone, or one or the other lags behind, they don't follow the markers on time, they turn endlessly, even pushing doesn't help. I tried waiting so I don't get out of formation, and they move in no particular direction. I managed to get them to Jupiter once, but when I docked on the trade lane for Earth, Greystone stayed with Jupiter, so we all went back there. Then I finally gave up, I had no more nerves. Don't get me wrong, it's just one mission, but it's really frustrating.

Sorry, I didn't have a lot of time, but I haven't had any problems from using the launcher so far, except that the account manager is unusable. As for the launch itself, it is noticeably faster than the older launcher and the update is quite fast, only the first time it takes a little more time, but already from the next update it is very fast. I did have a couple of crashes, but I'm not sure if it's the launcher. Ah yes I noticed that after closing the game he froze a couple of times, not every time he needed close to a minute to recover. The shader selection works like the other options from the settings as well as the music on off toggle. I also checked the hashing logs and it works great from what I saw. If you need more feedback or something specific to test, feel free to contact me. As far as ideas are concerned, I like the idea of implementing a translation button in the launcher itself to select the language. I also have a suggestion during the installation, there are several musical backgrounds offered, but there is no overview of them to choose from, so one can only guess. is it possible to listen to a sample from the offered music options from the launcher itself? Otherwise, I completely replaced the old exe launcher (not physically, I just pulled out the shortcut and now I start only with it) and now I only use the new one without any major problems and I can say that I like it more than the old one. Is it possible that you have a bad version of the original Freelancer game. Since it seems that you do not see Freelancer.exe, it is possible that your antivirus sees the file as malicious and deletes it, check the quarantine. When deleting-uninstalling the game, it is best to use a third-party program, I use Revo uninstaller, for example. Uninstall both Freelancer original and Crossfire. Then install Freelancer first (doesn't matter which drive) Run the game to that point to make the first save. Then install Crossfire, you can direct it to another drive, it really doesn't matter, but if you put it on the system drive, the executable file must be started with administrator privileges. It should work. Make sure that during uninstallation everything is deleted, including all files from the registry database and files on the hard drive, that's why I said to use a third-party program.

I just simply toned it down very low arbg values and use the RGB just simply for status indicators (incoming messages, CPU/GPU load via light speed changes, temperature display, etc.)
My PC is not even sitting on my desk but under it. (still visible but not disturbing). Generally i am not a big fan of RGB (pun intended). Even my choice of keyboard is careful. RGB yes but only to shine through the keys. I hate this bleedthrough RGB light under the keys.
I understand you completely and I don't like too much light because sometimes it can be a distraction in gaming, but my son also uses this computer and he is a big fan of RGB, this is a kind of compromise. I would also like to recommend putting the case on the desk because there is less dust, not because of the flex

I toned down the possible RGB puke on my build to a satisfying minimum. It does not have to light up my entire room. RGB is nice until it starts to bother you.
That however, does not mean you can do some fancy stuff.

The fans are also mirror rgb stuff but thats only active in certain situations.
Barely visible, but the red display shows 41°C idle temp after ~1 hour. That is actually ok for a 9800x3d (idle temps are a mess on AMD). But since I got a pretty good sample I undervolted it massively (and stable) so during +1hour stress test temps never went higher than 69°C.
Yes, I know the feeling when you get tired of RGB and the light shining becomes tiresome. I solved it by changing the computer case. This new one has glass on two sides and is a slightly tinted glass so that the light inside is no longer bright and pronounced. Sorry obout little mess this is also my workshop

Let's simplify install legacy FL (no need for any crack) then enable Windows feature for older games DirectPlay (Go to **Control Panel** > **Programs** > **Turn Windows features on or off - Look for **Legacy Components** and check the box for **DirectPlay) Then you can install Crossfire mod and it will run just fine. That HD version that you installed is no good.

You're absolutely right it's the "wild west" out there right now, they don't give a crap about copyrights and such. They create their own internal ecosystem, completely separating themselves from the West, but using all the benefits that it offers
