  • Hey pilots,

I was playing Crossfire in SP when suddenly all the mod added jump gates and jump holes dissipated. I still read them on my nav map, but I cant target them or even see them, when I go to the coordinates. At first I thought it was intended that way since I am playing an SP game. However, that happened suddenly after some playthrough. For example, at the beginning of the game, I could see and target the jump gate to Custodia in New York, but around the time I had to meet Junko at California Minor I couldn't target it anymore.

I wanted to ask, is this deliberate or some sort of bug ? If it is a bug, is there a way to fix it without deleting my save games ?

  • IIRC some of those gates are supposed to be hidden in SP until certain point (since they are spoilery in a way). You can try checking Open SP to see if they are still there.

(Just don't forget to turn Open SP off after that, storyline triggers don't work with Open SP).

  • Hi Cogwork Scholar,

They are definitely supposed to be hidden during some of the missions IMO. To be honest, they are not even supposed to be there because you're playing the vanilla campaign, so... it's perfectly fine.

  • Go back to last game save. Or to you can use the gates and jump holes again. that has worked for me. ;)))

  • So in open SP the jump gates and the jump holes are still there. I can also target them. I tried reloading my last save, I even tried reloading saves at a time I knew I could target them. It didn't work. I reinstalled the game and the mod. I also deleted my saves.

I hope it was just a glitch.

  • Yes, ILIYAN, I was thinking that it was by design. I was asking if their sudden disappearance during the SP was a glitch. I COULD see them AND target them in the beginning.

  • Nope, it wasn't a glitch, everything was working as intended.

  • I see.

    Thanks guys. :)

  • Yep, it wasn't a glitch just as Ajay said it. They were disappearing on me too when I was doing the Campaign all over again ^^ and it was perfectly normal because during the Original Campaign, they are not even supposed to be there, so it was perfectly normal seeing them disappear in SOME of the missions (luckily not all cuz I was using it for my advantage to travel faster, hehe).

    Anyway:

    I also deleted my saves.

You've mentioned earlier that you didn't want to delete all your save games. Let me know if you want me to restore your progress, which ship you were flying with, how many credits you had, what equipment etc. I can restore it completely and make it as custom as you like.

Or you can use these Saved Games if you want to have another go fully equipped during the Campaign, you'll definitely need them for the Crossfire Campaign though:

    In any case,

    - Take care and have fun. ;)

  • The gates are being removed from story missions because based on the story you are going to explore them somewhen later as part of a mission

  • Hah, thanks ILIYAN. It was at the very beginning of the game and I haven't really done that much. There were just very profitable trading conditions in New York, which I didn't want to miss. I was planning to take my time saving up credits for a proper ship and equipment. I appreciate the suggestion, but I haven't played Freelancer for a while, so I can take my time enjoying it. Thanks again :)
