Well, I've been trying all weekend guys, but it looks like my Laptop has decided it won't play CF anymore. I've bleached the hard disk & re-installed OS, twice.
Got my my map info back, bur now the game crashes the computer completely (blue screen of death,) about 30 seconds after starting.
I just want to say that I have really enjoyed playing on this server & am still amazed at what OP managed to do with the mod, he's made a great game into a masterpiece.
When I get the cash together I'll upgrade my desktop PC so I can get back on.
Until then, I'm gonna miss being a part of this fantastic community.
Big thanks to IOC, especially Az, Dark, Angmar & Argos for all your help. I'm going to miss being a part of this clan.
Thanks to Canoso as well(even if he is LP 
) for giving a random pilot nomad weapons, just as a help for a new starter & not asking for anything in return.
Az, give my weapons etc. to the next new member as It may be a while until I can get back. Until then have fun y'all, don't take things too seriously, and tell Juni I'll call soon

Sunburn, can you play normal FL on your laptop, or does that crash as well? What kind of laptop are you using? CF is working fine on my IBM T43 (X300 graphical card [cry2] ).

Ah mate - this is the worst news.
I hope you haven't exhausted all the hardware tips that can be given from the support section at the top?
Its funny how you meet a total stranger online and sometimes go about your busines and othertimes chuck out a 'hello' and see what develops from there.
We first met in Neophobos and we went on about the Predator and we independently joined IOC and had some good times. I was looking forward to seeing you in action but now ur making we wait.
I hope you get your upgrade soon and then you can come back stronger. As for all ur equipment - there all mine!! (said in a manical laughter way)
Still I am impressed you got it to work on a laptop anyway.

well i dont know what your lappy is like but the original lappy i was on was a dell 500 mHz with 64 M of RAM and guess what...i could run Fl. No i will say that the words were distorted and fuzzy and all i could do is sit in space and not move, but it did work. I now have a lappy that i can use to play along with my 2 desktops but originally it was very interesting. Good luck SB, hope to see you back on someday.

Perhaps you could post in the forum from someone else computer while yours is down, like i'm doing. Don't force any hardware. What kind of BSOD's you're getting? Don't worry with the 3d sound, since it rarely causes bsod's.
If you're getting something like "IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL", that means you got a memory conflict. Probably that's not what you're getting since you're using a notebook, but nevertheless, hope this helps.

Thanks for the tweaking tips, but it is the Laptop, as it's not just FL, it's crashing on websites too, I think it's been pushed to hard (Morrowind 3/Freelancer) and the chip's just welded itself to the motherboard, so it's only going to get worse, 'electronic migration' apparently or to use the technical term 'crap laptop!'
Was a Toshiba 1.3Ghz btw, cheap & cheerful graphics card, but was running so hot you could fry an egg on it after 30mins on Morrowind or a couple of hours on FL.
The desktop's only a 1.2 but with a decent graphics card, some more RAM & a monitor that's not darker than Gunnys cockpit, it should be ok
This is killing me atm, is there a withdrawal helpline or should I resort to alcoholism to get me through?
