Sometimes you reach lightspeed and end up outside the solar system, really rare thing though, bad ping helps.
It's fun if you take it as a challenge to avoid all static asteroids (not floaty ones that bounce off)

You probably mixed the numbers. The Flathead has a cruise speed of 450.

and the adv. subspace scanner is the best scanner, yes.
i got the ragnarok in sp dead easy and its fun to use as u dont have to wait for thrusters to kick in its straight away and goes all way upto 900 something so getting around is mighty quick which i love lol speed demon hahaha

if u want a ship thats fast redemption ship is great for extra speed but u need best thruster which is hydro androxin thruster i thinik its called boosts the speed and duration of your ship

Redemption (and Deimos) only has about 10 more impulse, reverse and strafe speed. Cruise speed is the same. And it's more of a tank in terms of agility.
Also, try to cross any decently sized asteroid field in a Ragnarok. It will be FUN.
