Faction Balancing In SP....

    ....Is it my


    imagination or has the faction balance been changed? What I'm refering to (yea, boo hoo) is


    that in the vanilla campain into my vanila sp of FL I think I pissed all the factions off at


    one time or another. But through bribes I was able to come to some simblance of balance with


    most all factions. I.e. Outcast and Corsairs etc. With CF it doesn't seem to have the same


    feel. I Bribe one and the others go crazy. Now I know this occurs in vanills FL butI don't


    remember it to this extreme. I bribed the the Corsairs and the bounty hunters were more or


    less neutral. This is ok with me. But the Sumaries hated me. Bribed them and the bloody


    Republicans hated me. Is it just me and my OLD feeble mind or is there a change in the


    faction balance (to make it more FUN?)? [4]

    I made the same mistake as you. I


    gave bribes to get equipment I wanted. Ended up as enemies of the ASF and CSF. Could not go


    to X-3043 without being attacked, and could not dock at Crossfire.

    is it just me or do the npcs seem slightly

    Hell I haven't been able to even get on for MP. I find the one


    server that says Crossfire and click on it (others too, come to think about it) and nothing


    happens. I mean litterly that clicking has no effect. Is there another way in, like typing


    in the address? I'd take you up on your offer JtaK, if I could. [4]

    In the freelancer folder is a prog called fldirectip,click on that and type in the


    address 212.227.23.76 i think

    Been thinking obout your inability to conect to server, you sure your


    firewall is set up to allow MP.

    I've flown on a few vanilla FL servers


    before installing Crossfire. But I only tried toget on the other night. Actually I wasn't


    able to get on any server. They showed up and I did a refresh but to no availe.

    Some questions for you!


    Have you double checked your firewall?


    Can you


    tell me what ports are open for FL?


    What firewall are you using?


    Have you


    installed any software since you last accessed an FL server?


    Are you getting any


    error messages when you boot your machine?


    Do you have ICQ or MSN or IRC software on


    your machine (in case we need to talk)?


    I may be being pig headed here, but I still


    think the problem lies with your firewall.

    i think freelancer and crossfire count as seperate progs to ur firewall so if its


    configured to FL it might not let CF acsess the global server
