My computer plays
Freelancer fine on full graphics settings, but Crossfire is very slow even on the lowest
resolution and graphics settings. Does anyone know how to fix this (is it the new eclipse
effect lighting?).

the minimal system
requirements of CF are about 10-20% higher than for normal FL
this is coz of way more
details and effects... the new systems and ships will do the rest
what are the
specifications of ur PC?
XP home edition (sp2)
Pentium 4, 2.8GHz
512mb of original ram, 2Gb of hard disk
ram
ATI Mobility radeon 9200
You need a better video card, pehaps a radeon 9800 at
least...
hmmm that system is way more than enough to run FL and CF
maybe the drivers of ur
video card are making problems... dunno
Thanks for the help, I will search for newer
drivers.
I have the ATI 9250.....256mb Your
card is fine. I also have the 2.8ghz intel. But I have 1gig of Ram.
I would upgrade
the RAM to 1gig. Fairly cheap to do.
I run my resolution at max , including 8x
anti-aliasing, and 4x antrioscopic. So your system for the exception of the RAM is almost
identical to mine.
You can visit ATI and get the latest catalyst 5.10 drivers. You
can also tweak your RAM in your BIOS to have faster transfer rates, by changing the CAS
LAtency from 2.5 to 2.0. DDR Ram has this functionality. You can find this in the DRAM
timing control panel of your BIOS.
But I highly recommend you goto
www.memtest86.com and download their benchmark program first, so you can check to
see how far you can tweak your RAM speed without disrupting the CPU functions.
FYI
this is NOT overclocking.
I'll put together a detailed post on this process so all
can learn how to do this. BUT I DO NOT take any responsibility for your actions on your PC.
Please consult your PC manufacturers specifications, since all PC's are
different.
Gunny
well, at least in singleplayer I run crossfire whit a geforce II
lolll
next
mouht i'll tell something about internet play
the rest of my system is not so higher to,
but i've never had problems whit it
AMD 2000 palomino
1 Gb RAM
God damm, as I
whant to play it in server
i also have geforce 2 but DAM it is not
enough so my graphical card will be able to handle effectivly Large combats at Ground
control 2 bummer
I think RAM is not your
problem, I played it with 256 MB DDR and it worked well. I think too, you have to check your
drivers, or maybe your installation or mods are not working well. But your system is ok, as
I played first time, my system was not as good as yours but everything was ok.
I have fixed
the problem, it was my graphics drivers.
just for info
i got a new brand pc with all the coolest stuff but I only had FL/CF
working installing the quickfix from lancersreactor
did you install the quickfix after the activation of
CF?
if so then now you have overwritten important files of CF
