I'll explain little wider: CF is primarily multiplayer mod which serve community here on swat-porta. Next come a fact that MP and SP are closely linked and do even small changes is quite difficult on so huge and complex mod like is CF. With this said there could be better understandable, that player using SP (campaign) cannot do all what is possible without problems in some cases ... and here come portal with our support/explaining and advices.

Best advice is quite simple in my point of view: As long as in vanilla-campaign, do act as if no additional systems are added and never buy a bigger ship than a VHF / small freighter...
Last point on ship-size is true for CF-campaign, too!
