    *the rabbit silently looks

around at the surrounding crowd of wolves*

    ...um.... I'll just be going

    now...

but anyway, I think everyone needs a history lesson, don't come to me for

that though, the lesson would be too long for me to teach and life is too short,

    cya!

and which ever side you're on is the good-guy side, do you think that the

Japanese, Germans, and Italians thought they were on the "bad-guy" side? no, everyone fought

for what they believed in or what their leaders believed in.

If I were the emperor or

darth vador, I would'nt call it the "dark" side, I would'nt call the empire evil,

Palpatine and Vador wanted to give order to the galaxy, they believed it was only through

imperialism and military mobilization and dictatorship that that was possible.

    So do

I btw ;), democracy takes too fucking long and it sometimes doesnt work.

  • i agree with pandora to an extent...except their is not such a thing

as good or evil....just too sides blaming each other for something and fighting for what

they believe in.....that is what war is...something that can be beutifull and heartrenching,

always filled with tragedy and as with every thing morality will take a back seat to

survival...as for ww2 thats something we may be doomed to repeat...just ina slightly

different form...i just pray it doesn't happen in our life times. however if it

does...we'll stand by our respective countrys fighting an enemy we're told is

evil.......not knowing the truth but probably not caring either way for when it comes to

  • I disagree about anther big war

being inevitable. It is only if we let it be. Dispite all the crappy things goin on the

planet recently, we are still progressing slowly every year to have more educated ppl....

the higher the level of knowlede generally, the less likely wars are. And who knows... the

Small wars and terrorism will stay a while

Concerning the nuclear plans of Germany.

It has been proved in the

past few years that Germany was not investigating the production of a nuclear

    bomb.

German scientists started the investigation on nuclear power in the second half

of the 1930's if I am not mistaken, just shortly before the Americans started their

investigation. This investigation was over the whole spectrum: power generating, propulsion

and explosives. But in 1941/42 the German generals concluded that it was not practical to

make a nuclear bomb, they simply didn't knew if they could contain it and if they could

    make it effective.
This didn't stop the research of nuclear power, it continued towards

    the power generating part.

In Norway the Germans had a strong water production

facility (D2O), which they put into barrels for transportation to southern Germany. A ship

with around 40 barrels was sunk by the Norwegian resistance on command of the British

intelligence, because they thought Germany was using the D2O to produce a hydrogen bomb. D2O

is used to make such a bomb, but research later showed that the concentrations of D2O in the

barrel were way too small to be used in a bomb.

It's just a game, and it will always remain a game

  • Imho there is one

    destablisating power in the world:

    The USA .

If you would look at a lot of

small or bigger wars of the past 50 years, the USA always played a big part in it. Either to

fight the Soviet Union or to benefit from the local resources (look at Iraq).

It's just a game, and it will always remain a game

  • Nitro, yer right the Germans were not very close to an A-Bomp,

imo because their top physicist Werner Heidellman (who first proposed the theory of a

fission bomb), deliberatly sat on it... A true hero to humanity.

    But i did not say

thermo-nuclear bomb, but "dirty" uranium bomb (conventional explosives to spread about

deadly radioactive particles).. This is something both the nazis and Japan were capable of

    doing by processing uranium ore.

Oh... Without the U.S. in Europe after the war and

the next 40 years until the break-up, you would be speaking Russian now....

    Is the

US foolhardy in many of their attempts to stop Arab terrorism? Hell yes they are... Iraq is

a disaster that the majority of americans wish never happened. But did anyone complain

about Afganistan or the first Persian Gulf war, or Kosovo, or Bosnia? Hell no they didnt....

If the US didnt intervene in those cases, does anyone really think that some1 else would

    have solved them??

It is fashionable to complain about the US, and alot of

polititions make their careers from it.... But the fact is that many times in the past

american blood was spilled to right wrongs and do the tough, dirty jobs that ppl in western

europe didnt want to do, but were secretly glad that some1 else would do FOR THEM.... So

    they could complain in freedom.
