    just to inform you... my hotmail email account currently does not work
    microsoft decided to lock it for unknown reason and all my tries to unlock it failed so far


    with other words... atm i cant read any emails you send to me.


    I hope to get the mail account back... if not im in serious troubles. Hundreds of email contacts and thousands of important mails... probably lost.


    interesting thing is that you can only write to the microsoft support about such issues if you are logged in (which obviously does not work when being blocked)

    Damn, that sucks... you should move to gmail next time in case you get your account back or not. Not that they don't keep track there too, every big company keeps or tries to keep track of every person out there, but it's a lot better in gmail, it's Google after all.


    And on another note, Microsoft sucks.

    changing to google does not solve any of the problems
    i cant get access to thousands of mails


    user account ids from software orders, bills, passwords, important CF stuff
    many other accounts are linked with the hotmail account and i can not simply change to a different mail service as when i want to change my email addy to a new one then i would need to confirm such a change... and the confirmation mail goes straight to my old hotmail account where i can not click on the confirmation link or read the confirmation code


    so with other words... loosing my hotmail account means to loose the ability to use many other (often commercial) services and products (e.g. the forum software licenses)

    I had an ICQ mail account from way back when ICQ first started and had the thing for almost 12 years then suddenly was locked out. Finally gave up on getting it back. Just to make sure this time, I got FOUR other free emails: Yahoo, Hotmail, Google and mail.com. Yahoo backs up the Google and mail.com backs up the hotmail. No lost mail or contacts unless they all crash at the same time. Each one also has a different purpose. Yahoo is linked to my facebook while mail.com handles all my gaming contacts [my Rex nebular account], Hotmail is the one I use for signing up for stuff where I might get spammed, etc.

    microsoft should unlock the account if you can name several of the folders in the account, along with contacts etc. I would compile a list as long as you can remember and send it. That's how I was able to have mine unlocked awhile back.

    well... i have one custom folder but cant 100% tell what its called
    i already gave info about sent mails and contacts... but that does not appear to be enough


    i am wondering why correctly answering the secret security question for that account is not enough

    If you registered mobile number, try calling support from that number.
    Also 2 accounts @ MS is a good idea (can confirm other account) and maybe udgrade Account to Windows Live Hotmail Plus (about 20€ a Year) with more space and others.
