I put these accolades here as they can clearly improve your damage in combat. Below are listed all kill accolades which give you a damage bonus against the different races (usually 2%). That does not sound much but can turn into major difference in combat if you consider the number of shots you do.
Also important is to know that there are damage type accolades and damage type resistance accolades. Kill and damage accolades add up in combat.
So lets assume you killed 1000 Undine on ground (which is possible by playing the last undine story mission 10 times) you will get a 2% damage bonus against Undine. Now if you use antiproton ground weaposn and do enough antiproton damage you will get another 2% damage bonus. With other words you do +4% damage to undines this way.
You can also gain a damage resistance against Undine. Undine use antiproton weapons (yellow ones). All you have to do is to take 15000 antiproton damage. So start a ground mission against undine... and let them shoot at you until they did 15k damage. Now you do +4 damage against undine and the undine do 2% less damage to you.
That are 6% higher chances to survive Terradome.
Now you could raise these chances even more if you assign a Tholian Warfare Specialists (vs Undine) because they add +10% damage vs Undine. And of course you can use a damage dealing Tribble like the Crossfire tribble (another +3,3% damage).
With other words, the correct use of ground devices and accolades can make a huge different in ground combat (not only against undine). Accolades also improve space abilities.
(Also keep in mind that buffs, ground kits, consumables like large power cells and special abilities that you can gain from the reputation system can help you to deal more damage or to take less damage.)
