Player List

Such tool/feature was closed by OP like over an year ago.

It was abused by players, gave some unfair advantage (not only that you could spy where and what are ppl doing, on which ship like trains, but just knowing who is online without being in the game was bad, especially for the server's activity).

It was also affecting the server's load negatively ( it was giving some issues like a bit of extra lag), so in general, better go online and see if you got fellows online, if not, wait for them over there !

Anyway, the Crossfire / SWAT Portal toolbar still has a link to that "Players Online Plugin", just that it is empty since the source/signal is out. It has another simpler players online plugin though, showing how many people are online, but not who neither where, neither in what ship (and the rest of the information the old tool was giving which wasn't fair). You can find the "SWAT Toolbar" in the thread I kept more or less active with toolbar updates and fixes (but lately I found nothing to update except the FLMM direct download link being gone), there you can find a toolbar version for every Browser type which is compatible with toolbars. Or if you have Firefox, you can use the one at "TOOLS" on the upper bar here, then going to "SWAT TOOLBAR".

That's about it of such tools, and I doubt such tool will be brought back, no matter the requests

Before was one with players and location. Is disabled what I know. Dunno, today is different situation as before and such list can be useful again.

Not unless it's without the "Ship" part. (if you remember, it had the ID, Clan, Name, Level, System and Ship in the table) Without that ships column, it could be usseful to know if there's somebody you know online. But if a guy sees somebody online that he doesn't like, he could simply not enter the server when in a normal case he would get online.

Hmmm, hard to predict Anyway the current toolbar's players online feature shows how many ppl there are, if there are more than usual, something is going on and you have to go online Since you don't have to "open" or "click" anything at all to see how many ppl are online, as it's visible all the time, it's much simpler than opening tables or menus to find the old players online list, unless we connect that table with the one in the toolbar, that is now empty, it would just be a click, but you still have to "remember" about it.

That's actually interesting, we would need the list to self refresh faster tho, to make that "ping" usable for more than just seeing who's online.
