Some general issues with Crossfire 1.9

  • Hi,

first of all, I want to thank the Mod-creators of Crossfire 1.9. I honor your work and all in all, I really really like this mod due to its big bigger biggest universe and all the other things, that have been implemented. So don't take it personally, but here comes the big

    BUT

Although I like Crossfire 1.9 and although I am curious about the new campaign, it is exactly because of this campaign, why I am posting this.

1st issue: Alright, a new campaign is awesome, BUT why did you not implement the possibility to abort the new missions or make it on the base of gratuitousness. Because it not possible to abort the mission, the player is not able to use navigation point function on the star map anymore and that REALLY sucks, because last time I flew about 100 klicks in a slight angle and landed about 200 klicks ABOVE my final destination, because I was in a ****ing nebula and there was no way to set a navigation point. Exactly because officially I was on a Chapter 2 mission.

2nd issue: also about the missions. I really really appreciate, that the Mod-creators invest so much time in creating a new campaign, BUT it is full of bugs. There are so many bugs, that someone needs a diploma in entomology for counting all the different bugs, which can be found in this mod. For example, Mission 24 in Chapter 2. These stupid cargo trains don't get it to dock with a trade lane WITHOUT wasting at least 10 minutes only for turning around the corner and when they finally entered the trade lane and also reached the end of it, the mission waypoint is still at the beginning of the trade lane we were just flying through! So when I enter formation, they are flying ALL THE WAY BACK (of course without using the trade lane and you can believe me, flying in Sol System WITHOUT the trade lane is NOT fun!)

When I tried it for the (felt) 50th time to end that mission, I was so annoyed that I wanted to blow up the cargo trains. But not even THAT worked! So I shut down the game, because I don't want to have a high blood pressure.

Well, this are just a few things, I hope you forgive me

    Greetings

  • To keep a long story short - you are looking for OpenSP, search and you will find.
If you plan to join Multiplayer later (which I recommend), you really need the storyline experience - just saying.
    Safe flying pilot

CF RP: Probably smuggling something or exploring the universe

  • 1) because it is not possible
the game was only designed to have 13 missions and therefore its resources is capped right there... that we were able to build a new campaign is practically a wonder based on the limited free resources that were left

    2) the mod and its campaign is practically bug free after its been automatically patch via launcher
problem is that people do not follow the storyline exactly as they should... that is causing problems

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • hah, definately weird, though I can understand the anger you had at that moment.

This extended campaign is for a major emergency, the human kind is in danger and you are not allowed to explore or waste the time on other stations, just follow the waypoints and the instructions the sexy Juni or Coalition guys or others give you. A hired freelancer, like in real life, or you do the job, or you are out.

It's interesting how after over an year now, there are people with new bugs, never heard before ^^ There sure were enough testers, in hundreds who did the storyline, found some major bugs and got fixed, or told a way to go around that bug.

  • Hi,

I know, I know. It sounds weird! But the sh** with the cargo trains also happened, when I started the mission from the beginning. Still it seemed, that they had some cups of coffee in the cockpit of those cargo trains, they were flying sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow ... I even could watch the Medium White central star in Sol System stopping its hydrogen fusion ... just kidding, but for real, it felt like that. :D

OK, I will try again and from the beginning till the end I will follow the story line. Maybe it works this time.
