single player mission 27 new worlds

I got pretty far in the mission despite the heavy attacks from the dan kavash, I get to what I think is the last pilot and there is a huge gate. I fly to another way point and it tells me to wit for the coalition commander to return and my escorts fly off twards the gate, I've been waiting along time now and I'm wondering if they are ever going to come back. The gate instantly destroys me if i approach, any help????

Thanks I'll see if that works at 17k I know the station fires at me at 10k so I'll get as close as i can and see if they get whacked. How long did you have to wait there?

I followed the all the way to 11k and watched them go all the way to the gate and nothing happens to them.

I was tired of getting raped by the dom'kavash Liberty Dreadnought Battleship and I can get almost to 10k but as soon as i do I get waxed instead of them (even in that) granted it takes longer but still dead. Don't know what to do any Ideas???
