Later you are supposed to dock smaller /non capital ship dockable stations, so buying something bigger is not a way, and it shouldn't even be possible for you, as they cost in several hundred of millions fully equipped.
Trying crossfire SP,does this only happen to me ?

digi999: SP capaign is done by scripts launched in unchangeable strict order. It mean, that if you not follow preciselly instructions (mission points, orders), then your SP stop working. In this case you must use last mission save, bcs it is only one working way which start use scripts as was planned (apply it also to your mission in Dervon).
... kill drones is relative easy with good flying skills (you know you can in cf strafe also up/down and avoid most of their fire use strafe) and from start usage missiles/torps. Drones not evade much, those weapons and it can help you alot. ... and better learn how to kill them fast, they are not worse npcs you will meet
p.s.: you use ship spinning? (it can mess ship handling if used)

It wasn't so hard really , doing it with only guns was hard lol . Also what's the flying speed of a Griffin ? It's freaking fast for some reason , being a VHF , it goes 250 + on thrusters , thats faster than LF's , it's even 500 at cruise speed , How is this ship so fast ? -

Edit byGriffin speed is normal as for other VHF ... checked in my SP right now. If you have it different, then it mean you can have activated another mod or your install is bugged (maybe will be optimal download mod again) and mainly let game patched from launcher for first time.
