  • On the subject of clans, contact anyone wearing tags online and I'm sure they'd be happy to answer your questions. On the setup, download the latest version of the mod, install it into FLMM, mod, and enjoy yourself! I hope to see you online!

  • what he said.

be sure that you uninstall and previous versions of CF, FLMM, and Freelancer.

remove save games while doing the uninstall.

be sure that you run all of the installs as a user with admin rights (right click on vista and win 7 and "run as an administrator")

do no turn on any other mods.

let the launcher fully patch before you start...and see you in space. :D

  • check out our forums, and check out the general pages, as well as the recruitment threads.

i can point out specific articles with links if you need 'em. :)

Read Seqan's signature and you'll see that we, the Silver Arrows, exist to learn more about the hostile alien forces that threaten human kind.

there is a lot of greed and corruption taking place all over sirius...but there's a whole other world out there.

    we explore, we defend!

we're a relatively new clan...but we have many allies...even most of our enemies are civil. :P

  • Trading is a lot different because you can only purchase 500 units at any one base and prices do change almost daily at stations according to what is bought or not. you HAVE to speck to other players to see if they have seen any good trades routes for that day. But presentably I just like doing missions a tractoring the life pods from level 42 or 43 mission in most of the Crossfire systems these can be sold at any prison for good money (up to 150,000 each) but only at prisons anywhere else they are worth only a buck.

Also when you are ready to join a clan a would hope that you would consider our Clan the United Rebels base in Nephele. while we are Good Guys we are allied to most other police clans we do don't like any of the pirate clans, we are newer and not as stringent as say Silver Arrow. We work with and train ALL of our recruits but also allow them to explore and enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played. I know that I have enjoyed my time with the United Rebels they have taught me much. If you are interested just contact Grand Andreas through pm or any UR players will be glad to help you With you playing the game before that truly gives you a leg up and I am sure that you will be kicking a lot of BUTT very soon, any help you need just ask OK.

    Take Care

    Talsman :D

  • There are many more changes.... even only in 1.82 from 1.8, but still more big stuff , like finishing the MP storyline project coming with 1.9 in few months ^^

Well, there are many clans out there, and still, be sure you have 1 or 2 weeks online in your new account, of 1.8 ^^ (min requirement for any clan, for newb protection) And that you take the clan that fits your style... like if you like to kill and destroy don't be something else than a pirate :D

  • hmm,

    alot to consider,

as ive played alot of Fl original version online and off im quite up to speed in terms of skills

and i think im a sorta protect ,explore ,defend type of guy tbh, not blow everything up at once.but an occasional escort or raid on an enemy base would be pretty decent

  • Yes, it was just an example :P

Still, in the first week (s) you may not have many resources, neither a fighter and/or trader :P it is why the protection, many can't fight back or defend.

  • Depends on the skill of the merc which is hired for this protection. Normaly you need a good ship to sell protection. About the trading, for the beginning it´s easy to get a standard VHF soon, you do not need that much money for it and Crossfire makes ist possible to Trade 500 Cargo very fast from place to place (often in the same System or just one Jump away - depends on the Market). With a Rhino there is the possibility to make a profit of 600.000 Credits (The Price of an Eagle VHF) in about a few minutes if you know where. So, just one week and you are able to sell protection Jobs - just leave the Missile Ammo everyone is using away because Missiles are pretty expensive. Btw. wb.

  • Yes, you can buy any vanilla train as well as new Crossfire trains, teh biggest being the 5000 cargo, like in old times ^^

And actually protection is also free if you have cops with you, free and efficient :D

  • yw ;)

yep, you are - the tricky thing of a Train is to find a route where you can trade differend goods with different profits between lets say a few systems. The base stocks are currently limited to 500 unites where a Train can load 5000 units but costs fully equipped around 85 Million Credits. So basically you need a friend to load your Train (docking with a Train several times to drive around the stock limit is not well seen) with the same commodity and trade it from place to place or you need to find a row of routes where you fill your Train with many different Goods to make your profit.

Just a comment, the redocking is pretty senseless cause it will need much more time than using a normal frighter for trading the Goods, because also very good routes are, like mentioned above, just a few TLs or 1 Jump away and the undocking procedure is taking more time but is realistic now (like all the FL NPC´s are undocking). Also the load procedure is taking much time while pirates and cops will ofc. investigate what you are doing out there - so be prepared for attacks and/or the Police authority going after your hard earned profit.

Not that easy, but CF was never meant to be easy as you may remember :).

  • APC Freighter (500 units)
    Bullpup MkIII (450 untis)

    You mean:
    APC Freighter = 450 cargo
Bullpup MK III = 400 cargo

    :)

APC at 500 would be perfect... heh
