i guess you are meaning not the planet itself - more likely the little fragment floating in front of it?
My guess - scrap part of a destroyed ship.
To me it looks more like there´s something inside the planet Oo
I already gave the right answer on SA board, won't spoil it here too

and OP in fixing it as it got bugged after missing some point about magnetic shields in remaking the updates...
Sphinx is right ..there is something within 
... I might give other hint that system where it was taken is NOW not to much visit as before.
It looks more as a super building, higher than a skyraper... big enogh to be a factory which keeps creating ships automaticly
