I ban AZ 'cos, BTW about the heresy, did you notice that volatile combination: my most favorite army is Astra Militarum Imperial Guard. and my second-favorite is... Iron Warriors CSM legion.

I ban AZ 'cos I see GKs as "generic LSM" who are somewhere close to the bottom, tied with Ulthwe Craftworld and Tau Empire. And, I just like Iron Warriors more, 'cos they are:
a) Most high-tech legion, as the result they are the most mechanized Chaos army, and they are experts in siege warfare - most of rank-and-file IWs can build and maintain a fortress in theory, and during the Great Crusade small detachments were left on fortress worlds as a garrison. They are also (on the average) a good deal smarter than most CSM bar Night Lords, Thousand Sons and Alpha Legion (Iron Cage Incident for example).
b) They were underappreciated by the Emprah and their brothers during the Great Crusade, and Emprah did not give a single flak about what their primarch (his son) felt and dreamed about. One of the reasons why they joined Horus.
c) Even after joining Chaos, they are second less Chaosy legions - little to none Possessed Marines, no direct allegiance to the any of the Big Bad Four, etc.
d) They have badass battlecry they kept from the Great Crusade.
e) They are more cynical and trust only their wargear.
