altair map in universe map(suggestion)

Neither the Coalition, nor the Dom Kavash, want anyone knowing who's down there.. its a matter of principle to them..

You can buy the bribe for the Coalition, and thats ok with them.. but they control Everything in their systems (read Communists) and they don't want information going in and out of Altair without their knowledge, or without being edited to their liking first..

The same with the DKs.. oh, they hate everyone.. but its a matter of their pride, you see. Do you think they want anyone to know that pilots slip through their destructive nets all the time? It would lower their fear factor!

I can't speak for the Nomads, however.. who can understand them anyway? All I get is a bunch of gibberish from them.. although they have learned how to offer a drink of tea..LOL.

PS - I've never had any problem seeing my navmap in Altair for the systems I've visited down there. You just have to BE in Altair to access those maps.. You are correct, it doesn't show up on the over-all map for your char.. but then, it never has.. and I think with the 1.8 release, it won't show up either, since OP is adding God-knows-how-many new systems in Sirius.. the map is gonna be Huge anyway..

why do you think that a ship computer would automatically draw maps from systems in different sectors of the galaxy

such stuff is the job of scientists or anybody who likes to stare through a telescope all day and night
in altair there is nothing that can update your map... no sirius faction and the coalition was at war with the alliance so i doubt that they say "hey old enemy... ill update your map before i kill you"
when you enter altair you leave the influence of every available mapping system and that is on purpose

I can understand that there are some technical difficulties doing it.

btw I wanted to know if it would be possible in mods made after 1.8; for a player to start on Planet Murmansk and be a pilot of the Coalition. e.g. Petrov.

This Coalition Pilot would have to take bribe to enter Sirius.

all the coalition systems on map and sirius only as 1 dot? kinda hard to navigate ~60 systems if they're the same dot...
