  • 40 years ago on October 9, 1967 the Bolivian army and two Cuban-American US Central Intelligence Agency agents captured Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, known as Che Guevara and executed him. He was 39.

  • Why, what did he do? Was he a traitor or a rebel or something?

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

  • I would say a symbol of what it takes to believe in an idea and fight for it.

  • I scorn his memory, for this man took part in the overseeing of purges and forced conscription of peasants when volunteers for his revolutions were low. He was trying to make the world a better place, but his means were deplorable. What good does it do to further such a noble cause as socialism when so many of its champions are ruthless murderers like Che? Imao his symbol defiles the ideology. *chews up the picture Simba posted, hops on it, and growls* :P

Maybe that just speaks for the immorality of mankind, but just because revolutionaries who came before him were mass-murderers doesn't mean that his acts are at all justifiable. It's one thing to kill those who would do harm to you, but it is another entirely to kill those who have surrendered or to kill civilians on a whim. After his victory in Cuba he was presented with hundreds of cases in which he had the choice of either preserving life or taking it. He chose to take it and that makes him a monster. Maybe most people don't give a damn, but I do - even if that means being ashamed of my own country for its (many) atrocities.

I don't mean to take a hostile tone or anything, but if the firing squad was pointing its rifles at you and your family to set an example instead of some Cuban's about half a century ago you'd understand my outrage a little better I think.

  • Every country in the world has had somebody like that at some point. No country is exempt or above it. But these people do both bad, *and* good.

For the half of the world he will be a good guy and for the other half he will be a bad guy... how shall HISTORY juge him ? ... as Nero, as Napoleon or as Gandhi ? 8)

Gandhi never ordered anyone to be killed.

There were many a times that people came to kill him but he left them alive so that they could repent for the rest of their lives.

Gandhi was a real peace man. It is the Britishers who would attack his followers. [3] [2]

  • Everry nation has good and bad guys,
    good history and bad history.
No man allone make a revolution.
Its a group who make a revolution and
every group has bad and good guys.
You must see it from all sides, not from one.
