While BioWare has hinted at the possibility of a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster for a while now, fans took it upon themselves to make the remaster a reality on their own. Many have wondered if the next Mass Effect game might attempt to switch up the gameplay style of the franchise, and now, one artist’s new Mass Effect fan art has envisioned what the game might look like as an isometric RPG game.

Fan artist Chris Bischoff has shared their new piece of Mass Effect fan art on their official Twitter account. The artwork, created by Chris and the team at The Brotherhood Games, shows what they think Mass Effect might look like were it to switch to an overhead isometric gameplay style and camera perspective. Seemingly, this game would be a four-player co-op game that would have them simultaneously taking on waves of enemies.
The Brotherhood Games certainly knows their way around isometric games, having developed one already in the form of Beautiful Desolation. If BioWare is indeed taking more of a hiatus from Mass Effect, maybe lending the series to Brotherhood for a game utilizing a new genre might just be the spark of electricity the series needs to come back to the mountaintop. And what better location to be looking down isometrically from?
