More_Boom_Boom recently unearthed this Christmas card from his sister. It dates back a few years to when he was building a Star Citizen computer, but his sister didn't know all those details. Nevertheless, if he's anything like me, all of his family and friends are well aware of his affection for Wing Commander. I'm very impressed by the attention to detail here. It's a pretty recognizable Hornet cockpit targeting a Dralthi. What a great sister!

She had the right idea. Just a couple decades off.

Last month we posted a video of an old Tandy playing Wing Commander, and it was surprisingly popular. I admit I was also captivated by it. There's just a magical feeling associated with those chunky beige boxes. Marco Plays DOS Games recently took a similar crack at it and got everything going on a trusty old 386 DX33. Compared to the last video, this one has a lot more narration and Marco also shows off the game's box contents. Plus, he's armed with a vintage CH flightstick and uses it to dutifully pilot his viewers on a trip down memory lane. It's fun watching him have fun! Give it a view below.

Here's a few more shots of the glorious Tarawa model that Mac has been experimenting with lately. It's good to see people still putting Klavs' design to good use! The main purpose seems to pretty much be setting up for some prime B-roll in future lore videos on YouTube, but it still makes for gorgeous still imagery in the mean time.

Oof, looks like I'm gonna have to get back to work on getting the Tarawa fully working!

Something that I didn't mention was that my work with the Tarawa, was actually based on the work of someone named littel_ludi on the Hard Light Production boards who imported Klav's models into Freespace/WCSaga and made it public on their forums here. At the moment all I've done is the retexturing, the glow points, and the bump maps, with the full intention of making the Tarawa into a fully working CapShip (It's missing a lot of functionality atm). Although I might end up abandoning

It's the battle of the mission briefings! Both Plywood Fiend and Real Admiral Tarsus have recently mocked up their own takes on these classic WC1 interludes. They both have their own distinctive art styles while paying homage to elements we love like Colonel Halcyon and the nav map.

Greetings all and Merry weekend. I've been trying to hone my skills with pixel art, animations and the like and have made the following scene, a reasonably elaborate mission briefing in the WC1 style.

The story here is of an Exeter, the TCS Tengu fleeing from a pursuing Kilrathi strike force. If they can link up with the TCS Vigil, another Exeter, they might just be able to overcome the pursuing fighters and possibly even strike back against their carrier.

Which one's better? It doesn't matter! It's just awesome that fans are still tinkering around and experimenting creatively like this, so if you like either one, let

Prime Minister Edmund Mahon has invited Sirius Corporation to establish a permanent presence within the Alliance.
The Alliance Tribune's political correspondent Vanya Driscoll reported:
"Sirius Corporation's new role as a strategic defence partner has expanded swiftly, with a Sirius faction established in the Alioth system to represent the megacorp. In addition, several megaships have arrived in other Allied systems to provide support."
"The Alliance Defence Force and some government departments now have official advisors from Sirius Corporation on their staff. Prime Minister Mahon announced that these developments will streamline joint operations with the Sirius Navy, and in turn provide effective countermeasures against Thargoid aggression."
"But Councillor Nakato Kaine claims that the presence of Sirius Gov is illegal as it was not ratified by the Assembly. She has pointed out that since

We've got an update on capi's entry into the Kerbal Space Program competition we mentioned last week. He got lots of good feedback from fellow Wing Commander fans, and the design has been nicely tweaked and finalized. Now work has shifted to an entry video that showcases the design. This has been dubbed "Wing Kerbmander," and it looks like it'll be something special! We'll be sure to share when it's ready.

Started putting together my video today. Going homage, but Kerbal-style. Anxious to share it with y'all but it's nowhere near complete yet. Just bits and fragments.

Today we've got Scribbler's second ambiance video. This one takes place in the Tiger's Claw's barracks. As such, it's a little more peaceful than the bar scene. There's a more calming engine hum and an occasional water bucket drip. What do you think? You can help provide feedback at the CIC Forums and influence Scribbler's future projects here.

In this file we enjoy the ambiance of the TCS Tiger's Claw bunkroom.

A long flight? Rest yourselves. It's not a five-star hotel. A water pipe has been dripping for ages, and announcements from the bridge can still be heard in the corridors. Don't be disturbed that a comrade has just come out of the bar and is now going to bed. After all, you are on a carrier ship that has seen its best days and has no single berths. Enjoy your sleep.

Nightball06 has finally accomplished the lengthy mission to model his Hellcat fighter. As you might recall, he previously made an intricately detailed two dimensional sketch of the medium fighter from Wing Commander 3. It took him a while to find a partner with which to add the extra dimension, but he did manage to connect with such an artist and the results are below. The first image shows the new model, and the second is his original sketch (and Klavs' Wildcat, which was also an inspiration). Hit the discuss link to let him know what you think!

IT IS DONE!!! :D Ladies and gentlemen - May I present you:

The F-86E "Hellcat V refit". With the help of a very talented 3D-artist from Israel called "lexa6ix" I was able to finalize my vision. :)

It was a blast to work with him - especially because I was able to present and discuss my ideas, which he then knew how to make real. And because of that - I was even

The crew of the TCS Majestic is gearing up for their final battle and conclusion of a two year campaign. Everything culminates this weekend in the Gemini Sector RPG. This won't be the end of the group's online roleplay adventures, but it does mark the end of a major story arc. Even if it feels like an odd time to join in, the group welcomes all to join and watch at their Discord server! It sounds like they'll have a great time. Check out a few associated vids to set the scene below:

The crew ready for a final strike on the Zhelnar tactical carrier. This is the final mission of the Nitir Campaign. If the pilots manage to destroy the carrier, the kilrathi presence in Ragnarok will be destabilized to a point where ISS can safely protect the colonies.

DefianceIndustries has started making updates to his YouTube channel with some neat content related to his many Wing Commander projects. Two examples below show off a launch video test for WC4 Remastered and Nephilim iridescence test in the upgraded Prophecy Vision Engine tied to his Model Upgrade Project work. I really like the look of that Hermes on the flight deck! Head on over to see these clips, plus shorts showing off some of his fancy models!

We thought about updating the demo to use a new video to when you launch from the Lexington. It never got beyond the concept stages however. Still It was kind of a fun experiment.

Titan Taranis, one of the eight Thargoid motherships, is presumed destroyed after a concerted attack using Guardian nanite torpedoes.
The journalist Jade Sanderlyn published a bulletin via Vox Galactica:
"We're receiving incredible news from the Hyades Sector FB-N b7-6 system, where independent pilots were supporting Aegis's assaults against the Titans. The new Guardian nanite torpedoes have proved effective against the Titans' thermal vents, forcing their hulls to open and vent internal heat. And that has allowed Commanders to target the core of each gigantic ship."
"What were believed to be Taranis's death throes were closely observed. A massive release of energy repulsed all ships, followed by further explosions. At present the Titan's status cannot be verified, due to an intensely corrosive gas cloud that prevents ships from approaching. Aegis is confident, however, that the detonations

Authorities in the Kamici system have reported a distressing rise in the number of criminals operating in the area. Reports indicate that these felons are attacking pilots travelling in the system, disrupting trade and generally causing mayhem.

To counter this threat, Kamici Incorporated has placed a kill order on all ships on its wanted list, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver bounty vouchers to Gaiman Port.

The campaign begins on 16th of August 3304 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

The weapons manufacturer Prax Incorporated has dismissed accusations of poor safety measures in its development and testing programs. Concerns were originally raised by Adley King of The Federal Times, as part of an investigation into weapons testing within inhabited sectors.

CEO Lucina Prax gave this press statement:

"I can assure Ms King that my company takes every precaution when evaluating its products. We have never – and will never – ignore safety protocols."

"Regarding these accusations, I am aware of the claims being made but have yet to see a single shred of evidence to support them. We act in full compliance with the most stringent industry regulations."

"3304 was a record year for Prax Incorporated. The latest version of our proprietary threat-recognition firmware propelled our stock to new heights, and we are developing a new system that I believe will be considered revolutionary."

As part of our upcoming Season 18 release, we’re making it quicker and easier to play our new patrols. Alongside the launcher for TFOs is a new launcher specifically for patrols, where you can find a list of the new bite-sized content. Simply click on the PVE Operations button, select the Patrols panel, and you can see a list of the new patrols and launch to any one that you want to play. No need to fly around sector space hunting for the right place—the new interface will take you there immediately. You can launch into a patrol by yourself with no delay, or team up with friends and go as a group. Once you finish, you’ll return to wherever you left off. You’ll notice that these patrols appear in the mission journal as well, as part of the “J’Ula’s Discovery” mission group. This means that you’ll be guided through the patrols, and the first time that you play each one as part of
