Forget a capital ship? No problem! Wing Commander Academy's light cruiser TCS Manassas is mentioned in the script but seen only at an extreme distance (the top left triangle in the fleet shot) or extreme closup to hide the fact that they didn't have a design!
But let's take some points away from the writer, too; surely it should be the TCS Bull Run.

…Cobra Wing, an independent organisation based in Ebor, has launched an initiative to build a new research outpost in the system.
The outpost will support further research into the Thargoids, focusing specifically on the possibility of inter-species communication.
A spokesperson for Cobra Wing gave the following statement:
"Without communication, there can be no understanding. Without understanding, there can be no peace. We ask the galactic community to support this campaign, which will support new research into the Thargoids and their methods of communication."
In support of this goal, Cobra Wing has placed an open order for various commodities, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to Morris Enterprise in the Ebor system. About ten years ago, it was briefly popular for Wingnuts to splice up clips from various Wing Commanders and pair them with popular music. You don't see this much these days, since the overall novelty of casual video editing has worn off and it takes significantly more effort to create a slick production that stands out in the crowd. Nevertheless, Abbat Faria recently paired up cuts from the Wing Commander movie with Linkin Park's "By Myself." I'm still slightly baffled as to why it exists, but it's not the craziest Wing Commander creation I've stumbled across lately. I can only imagine that this version is superior to the original video though. Perhaps it resonates a bit more with people who are fans of the music...

…Councillor Nakato Kaine has suggested that the Alliance's current electoral system should be replaced by direct public voting.
The proposal follows a recent election where Prime Minister Edmund Mahon was reinstated for a second six-year term.
Addressing the Alliance Assembly, Councillor Kaine said:
"Only allowing council members to choose the prime minister is a flawed system, vulnerable to corruption and outside influence. The people of the Alliance should have a direct mandate to determine their leader by casting individual votes."
Political journalist Vanya Driscoll reported for The Alliance Tribune:
"Although Kaine stopped short of claiming that Mahon's victory was achieved fraudulently, the Assembly took a dim view of this attempt at electoral overhaul. Some council members accused her of failing to accept that her policies received considerably less support than those of her rival."

Commanders have been asked to help destroy the rogue Grey Swan pilots killing civilians in the Shamash system.
Military squadrons taking part in Fleet Exercise Grey Swan became irrationally violent following an unexplained mass hysteria that swept through Garrett Orbital during a fleet training exercise. Captain Ulrich Maurer, commanding officer of the San Tu State Network megaship Khonsu Gleam, broadcast the following message:
"Shamash Future's security forces have asked us to help stop the carnage taking place throughout this system. No medical or technological solution has been found for affected pilots, who seem reluctant to leave Shamash. Therefore, to prevent the loss of more innocent lives, there is regrettably no choice but to eliminate every ship in the Grey Swan fleet."

This brand new update (3.2) is focused on bringing you some engaging new content in the lead up to the larger Quarter 4 update later this year (Chapter 4). Special delivery: it’s a rare Wing Commander port I didn’t have in my collection! Meet the 1993 ASCII release of The Secret Missions 1 & 2 for DOS/V.
DOS/V is an operating system developed by IBM for PC compatibles with VGA cards that adds Japanese character support. There were also DOS/V versions of Wing Commander, Privateer, Armada and Wing Commander III! This is by far the rarest one at least in western collecting circles. One of the reasons for that is probably that the box looks EXTREMELY similar to the 1991 DOS/V version of the original. Check them out, reunited!:
Another fun thing about Wing Commander for DOS/V is that you can pick it out in the background of an episode of Gridman.

@kingmakeress had me looking through the 3DO version of Victory Streak where I found this forgotten oddity included alongside the Kiranka claw symbol!These Kilrathi medals from the TCTG are worth considering as well!

Thank you to everyone playing the Frontiers Update, especially those taking the time to report any issues they encounter via Zendesk or console crash reporting.
We are listening closely to your feedback, and have identified and resolved a number of issues. These fixes are included in patch 3.71, which will be live on all platforms soon.

- Fixed a number of rare instances where settlement buildings were not properly constructed.
- Fixed a rare issue where a construction terminal would not be placed on a settlement building site.
- Fixed an issue that could cause grass to spawn within settlement buildings.
- Fixed an issue that could allow players to edit terrain within settlements in rare circumstances.
- Fixed an issue that could cause settlements not to align correctly with the terrain (for example, after the terrain had been edited).

…Princess Aisling Duval met with Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval in person to discuss an Imperial contribution to the reformation of Aegis.
The Imperial Herald's political journalist Cassia Carvalho reported on events:
