Today’s Ship Spotlight will focus on the second of the Angel Cartel vessels in the group we’ll be exploring – the Cynabal class cruiser.
On point during any Angel Cartel raid, the Cynabal is a fast attack cruiser that excels at providing a platform for hard hitting guerrilla warfare. With three bonuses dedicated to maximizing the damage application of its four turrets, plus a bonus to warp speed and warp acceleration, the Cynabal is adept at staying ahead of the pack while also having the ability to inflict crippling damage.
One of the earliest designs to come out of the Angel Cartel, the Cynabal’s function and blueprint has barely changed over the years, and it has remained a key vessel within the Cartel's fleet since it was first introduced.

The following are some of the brand new items in the Deep Space Nine Lock Box – Holographic Deep Space Nine Bridge Officers to join your crew and away teams. A Vanity-Only Ferengi Shield, allowing a player to take on the visual look of classic Ferengi ships, capable of dropping from the Weapon pack. Hello Everyone!
We are so excited to finally share the focus of our development efforts over the past few weeks: a large update focused on improving and extending planetary exocraft!
A brand new exocraft is now available to drive across the galaxies: the rugged, fast-moving Pilgrim.
The Geobay for the Pilgrim is available for purchase from the Blueprint Analyser. The existing exocraft have also been tweaked. Multiplayer racing has been fixed, inventory sizes have been increased, and summoning has been made easier. Geobays now only need to be built once – after that, all owned exocraft can be summoned with unlimited range on any planet where you’ve constructed a new Exocraft Summoning Station.
New upgrades for the Pilgrim and all other exocraft can be purchased from the Exocraft Technician once their missions are complete. Exocraft handling can also be adjusted with a series of new technologies, allowing players to

The Age of Discovery returns! The danger posed by J’Ula underscores that we have more to learn about this period in our history, and you’re about to encounter it firsthand. It appears we all forgot the SWAT Portal's Birthday, so let me be the first to say...
Happy Birthday to the SWAT Portal! A place where it isn't just an ordinary forum or website for a standard game, the SWAT Portal is a home to many. A place where players can come together and have fun with others, and rejoice their achievements and celebrations. So I say for all of us, Happy Birthday for the Home for all Crossfire (and extended games) Players!
And congrats to OP and others for creating such a home!

The Terran Empire’s latest incursion into the modern universe was accidental but no less effective for it. Details around the actual conflict are tightly classified, but debris and technology from that conflict have appeared in our universe, much to our scientists' delight. Starfleet, the Lobi Consortium, and a handful of other interested parties have acquired and replicated all manner of interesting tech from the dark side of the mirror. What twisted paths might the Terrans have taken as their trek through the cosmos diverged ever farther from Starfleet’s? What advances unchecked by treaty or conscience have now arrived in our universe? The Emperor’s Lock Box is filled with brutal machinations Emperor Georgiou saw fit to grace with a berth aboard her flagship, the I.S.S. Charon. It contains a ship, space weapons, duty officer assignments, kit modules, and traits. Additionally, each box contains a

Hello Everyone!
No Man’s Sky NEXT launched just a couple of months ago. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the positive response. We are excited to be on this journey with you.
Over the months since release we have been adding new free content, community missions and improvements to No Man’s Sky every week. From small features like allowing players to customise body shape, to large gameplay additions like the Pilgrim motorbike, and companion features such as addition of discovery leaderboards to the Galactic Atlas, allowing the community to track progress between factions.
We have enjoyed posting weekly development updates and highlighting some of what players are up to in our game. It’s so gratifying, and often quite touching, to see how No Man’s Sky and the community have grown and evolved.
We’ve been listening intently, and are hard at work on fixes and improvements. We wanted to share a little news from

Cherno has shared a neat video of tech demo project he's put together. It's a top-down 2D space shooter with Wing Commander models. This reminds me a whole lot of the early Arena concept shots. Although it's conceptually pretty basic, there are some nice touches with familiar asteroids and damage sound effects included. Cherno's been toying around with different ideas to give the game some more meat, and we hope he continues to develop the idea further!
This project was started about two years ago using Unity, then abandoned and now (January 2022) I got back to it, fixed some bugs, and made this short gameplay video. What you see is all there is to it: just glorified placeholder assets using the original graphics and sounds of Wing Commander. I always wanted to make a top-down game but the limited field of view restricts the gameplay mechanics. Initially, I opted for a straight conversion of the

During a Kernel Update this night there was a malfunction of one of the HDDs on the SWAT Main webserver.
The HDD meanwhile got replaced and no data was lost
The few hours downtime has lead to market problems on the CF server which also should be fixed meanwhile (Freelancer restart is required).
Server statistics and player lists will update tomorrow.
Websites of the SWAT network should be a bit slower than usual at the moment as they require to do daily updates and maintenance now.
In a few hours everything should be normal again.

2012 was a very weird year.
The world did not end, eventhough mass effect 3 was a catastrophy.
Looking back at the year which is almost over I unfortunately have many negative impressions in mind... more negative than positive actually.
Community members which prefer to argue than to work together, the loss of a clan, conflicts between communities, players which complain about every shit instead of making use of what they got and not fulfilled objectives for the year.
Most of the above mentioned stuff had negative impact on the portal.
The lack of help and support aswell all the troubles generated by the players have thrown back the development of CF2.0 by many months. Even worse, it nearly killed the motivation of the team.
I remember 3 times when Huor requested help and got not even a reply.... and I know that people had the knowledge and ability to help. Probably its best if I dont mention how many times I requested help and got no reply during the past year.
It saddens me that

Howdy!
Accolade complete: this webserver has killed its 3rd HDD
Thanks to the people that gave me a notice earlier today via email and moddb.
The damaged HDD meanwhile is replaced and backups seem to be working. It will take some time for the server to rebuild the cache for all the pages so it will be a bit slow in the next few hours.
If any chars got banned due to the failed CF updates I will unban tomorrow in the morning after the daily updates ran through.

Over the past 3 weeks ive done dozens of updates on the SWAT Portal and its associated websites.
The updates reach from minor correction, security fixes, new features and some restructuring. Most noticable today certainly is that our fellow bot ran amok.
I completely replaced it with a new better working version which had to catch up some work.
Its running smooth now and will support us here in a much better way than the old bot.One of the big changes concerns mostly the players that are part of our STO Fleets. Here the member management has been completely recreated in order to do updates of the rank system on the fly and link everything directly with the SWAT community framework.
I'll explain the details to the STO fleets later.A new and certainly very interesting feature for all out members might be our new "Competition" system which allows us to run multiple leages here at the Portal.
I think Freelancer Event Managers will find good use for such a feature.
