"Regardless, this whole matter with you and Shockforce/[BLK-OPS]Obliterate is being turned over to [GR]s Faaby and if necessary, [GR] Michael for full investigation and to be resolved"

That sounds like asking GR to attempt to take action against me for doing RP.

Again, you assume wrong good sir, you were there in Frankfurt near planet Holstein in the incident with Obliterate/Shockforce, therefore you also are a witness, therefore you also are involved in that said incident and that the said GR investigation is NOT targeted at you. OK?

With Arrow's further explanation of the details in general and his public apology, apparently there is fault to be found on both sides.

Now, with that said... Me and my clan mates are willing to put aside our pride, let bygones be bygones, forget the whole incident of your rash actions with Inflkt due to the chaos with Obliterate/Shockforce and misunderstandings that ensued, shake hands over the matter as friends and allies and put his matter behind us all... But the question is are you willing to put aside your pride and do the same?

Once again you are jumping to conclusions GUNNY and you need to calm the hell down. The only matter so far that is officially getting turned over to GRs is with Shockforce/[BLK-OPS]Obliterate, this incident with you is at Arrow's discretion.

Bottom line, you accusing my clanmates of working in cahoots with smugglers does not set well with me or my clanmates of whom you are accusing, as we have already put an end to that BS with smuggling in general in the not so distant past. The only thing we transport now is legal goods, period, due to previous allied clan agreements.

Painting us as such without reviewing all the evidence of the situation smacks of deceit on your part the way I see it.

Personally as a side note, I don't recall any such system-wide message from you to Inflkt about his cargo, of which I do think is necessary if you're intending to blow him up with others in the system right there watching you, who are fellow allied cops no less. If we are supposed to be busting smugglers as allies, I think it's imperative you notify US as well before you go to guns a-blazing.

Again, I believe Michael and Arrow will have something to say about any alliance or treaty violations between us, as last I understand HE is current CFPD Chief of Police.

I highly doubt these rather outrageous accusations Gunny as TWC and ARROW were only there to assist me and "The Dragons" Patrolman and Parder to permanently "decommission [BLK-OPS]Obliterate's Osiris battleship". This nutjob was earlier destroying or trying to destroy -=TD=-(The Dragons) transports and myself, might I add, out of proper role-play(no pirate tag, didn't even tax, just destroyed whoever came near him) and him being rather verbally abusive. I noticed some Freelancers in the area during this incident but if any of them were smuggling, no any SA personnel had any prior knowledge of them smuggling, of which we long ceased such activities due to other clan agreements and treaties.

As far as any excuse trying to defend said player, I can only surmise they thought you were attacking them without provocation and therefore came to this Freelancer's rescue, again without prior knowledge of said player actually smuggling if this is the case. Regardless, this whole matter with you and Shockforce/[BLK-OPS]Obliterate is being turned over to [GR]s Faaby and if necessary, [GR] Michael for full investigation and to be resolved.

    *facepalm*

*looks at the massive stack of notes, images, info about the "Crossfire Ships and Vessels Technical Readout" from Fleet Admiral Sam Thomas on his desk at the SAL's General Supervisor's office...*

    *sigh*

    :P:D8)

Meh, we'll see... I'm pretty busy up at (IRL) work right now, that project will be a major undertaking... I'll get back to you guys...

I was going to recommend maybe using a Windows TCP/IP stack manager program on your connection to see if that would help any Riebens...

But after my experiences with it on Freelancer, I'd almost tell you you're better off dealing with your current setup...

Perhaps it's worth a try though in your case, surely it couldn't be any worse haha! :D

This is probably a good site to hit up to see if you can't improve things as well...

    http://www.speedguide.net/

Kinda what Michael said, you obviously ran across some NPCs in Liberty space that are friends with a faction that is rather hostile to you. Therefore, you saw them, they got pissed, EVERYONE goes red and you go "OHHHH SHIIII....". :roflmao::D

Not played for nearly 4 years. Last i played was 1.6 i think. So whats different in today's version?

    Worth coming back?

Worth coming back he says! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Welcome back Greezy and yea, LOL... ALOT has changed since 1.6 my good man. :D I've only been around since 1.7 and alot has changed since I first started here.

You may not even recognize the mod anymore, that's how different it is now. You'll be spending lots of time on the server just finding all the new stuff and learning what all has changed, in some places quite drastically.

See you in space sir, don't be afraid to give any of us Silver Arrows a holla if you go venturing in the Inner Core, you'll pass through our home in Omega-3 when you do! 8)

    P.S.: L@@K @ my siggy! ;):D

Alright, well this will be my last post derailing this thread Maxbur...

But back to my point of view, allow me to clarify and expound on it further.... Which was of player vs. many NPC opponents rather than player vs. NPC. In solitary situations with player vs. single NPC, yes I agree, humans will generally always have the upper hand ultimately as we're far more unpredictable, resourceful and capable of incredible feats beyond our "normal" level of skill against a computer-controlled opponent. This of course, is again highly dependent on the said player's skill level.

However in large "fleet" engagements of multiple human pilots vs superior numbers of NPCs,(read: Inner Core NPC fleets) we're outnumbered and outgunned, therefore the odds are always against us. We are capable of defeating large numbers of NPCs in respect to our lesser numbers, but again, there is no measure of guaranteed success due to varying degrees of pilot ability and skill level. Of course, this is by design courtesy of OP, giving us perhaps the greatest NPC challenge ever known on a Freelancer server IMHO!

A main factor to all of this is the unknown skill level of a player in general. Sadly, there arguably isn't a huge list of good or great PvP pilots on Crossfire anymore unfortunately,(at least not like I remember back in 1.7 anyway) due to alot of the older, more skilled players leaving the game for one reason or another.(*sigh* see Spiky's recent departure for a shining example) Sure, you can teach techniques and train new pilots coming up, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will excel at it either, there's no guarantee they will master PvP. Also, there is always something or someone new to learn from, so again, even the best pilot will meet their match somewhere, someday. Whether it's against a upstart new PvP pilot or one of those crazy Inner Core NPCs catching them "on a bad day at the wrong moment". In light of these observations, I have yet to see any one pilot consistently dominate the entire server year after year in the server rankings in PvP rankings or for the most NPCs killed in that regard.

Also something I have to voice, there is issue in factoring in of latency/ping giving European players having an advantage IMHO. While many may argue this, I find it's still no different from any other online game I've played and therefore inadvertently creates an "uneven playing field". Players closest to the server always enjoy a either slight to obvious ping/latency advantage against others far from the server due to internet network inefficiencies. To me, it's no surprise that I find some of the best PvP pilots on this server happen to be a majority of European players. Surprisingly, this effect can also rear it's ugly head with NPCs as well, for example... If you somehow get caught in packet loss on your connection for longer than a few seconds with a bunch of Inner Core NPCs nearby,(or for example, take a screenshot LOL) you can literally get blown to pieces before you even realize it.

Therefore due to all those factors, I consider high-level NPCs in this mod just as worthy an opponent as I do human pilots Maxbur.

So again, it's all a matter of perspective my good man, take it for what you will, I digress...

Again, I wish the Dragon Corps good fortune and success in all your endeavors. *salutes*

Crysis mean, that Blackout trained to kill real players, that much harder than to kill aliens you know :P

That my good Maxbur... Is rather debatable. ;) Skilled human pilots indeed have skills, ability, with access to good fighters and cap ships, are good pilots and are formidable in combat.

However, NPCs, particularly the alien NPCs of the Inner Core, make up for it in overall firepower, sheer numbers of ships, vessels and with in-human NPC "abilities". I've seen even old-school Freelancer pilots who come to this mod quickly get schooled by the United Doms of the Inner Core. In this mod it seems, we will always be outnumbered and outgunned by them, therefore extermination of them all is rather impossible. :D Also, I've personally seen groups of Crossfire pilots working together in cooperation in Inner Core missions on several occasions only come close to remotely put a dent in the hostile United Dom faction's forces. Most of the time, if you're not packing at least 3-4 human fighters out there, you have little hope to bring any alien cap ships down out there, aside from the alien fighters. Sometimes even with a maxed out Redemption setup as a gunship, I'm fortunate if I can take down several wings of alien NPCs solo without needing to retreat for repairs. Back when the destructible universe was still active, it was quite an effort and alot of time with even 8-10 human VHF pilots just to take down a United Dom base.

Sooooo, it's all a matter of perspective sir, IMHO. 8)

Yes, true that Faaby, Omega Wing's ultimate purpose is to use special weapons, specialized ships and tactics to effectively SMASH THE HELLA OUTTA ALIENS!!! :D We basically reuse assets from our Alpha, Beta and Lambda wings to form a capship/static base destroyer wing that also can still effectively intercept NPC fighters, this wing is also expandable from 7 to 17 members in size, roughly from the size of a wing to a small fleet. We use cap ships, bomber/capship killer VHFs, gunship VHFs and standard VHFs in our Omega Wing organization.

What the Dragon Corps are doing is quite a bit different, regardless I salute their effort in this new initiative and wish them much success! *salutes*

As a sign of tribute, I will purchase a Pink Eagle and I'll name it the "Spiky"...

...eh, maybe not. :P But seriously, you don't need to stop playing forever, just take a break for a month or two. I'm sure everything will blow over by then.

What TWC SEZ! Don't be a b*tch Spiky, you know you love this game and this mod, just take a break for a month or two... or three... ;) :D

Yea, there are times when I've had my ass chapped in this game, but HEY, I try to remind myself, not to take this game personally.(which ain't all that easy sometimes, I don't get pissed off often, but when I do, it's when I and everyone else REALLY needs to step back a bit)

I've had to take a "vacation" several times in my several years here at CF, so you just need to relax and find new game or two, something fun to play to you and so you can "recharge".

It's to keep you from getting burnt out on the game, because it will happen at some point or another if you play it long and hard enough.

So, leave if you must, take a good long rest and forget about Crossfire for a while Spiky. You'll be missed, but in the end, you must do what is best FOR YOU. In time, I imagine you'll be ready to want to venture to the stars again and when you do, we'll be here looking forward to your return.

*salutes* Take care! YA @$$HOLE! :D:D:D:thumbsup:

how else should flower shops survive without such a day - is there any serious reason for this day?

The story of St. Valentine is a powerful one, one that shows that love never fails, even unto death.

We would all do well to remember it.

    The Story of St. Valentine

In 270 A.D., marriage had been outlawed by the emperor of Rome, Claudius II. Claudius issued this decree because he thought that married men made bad soldiers since they were reluctant to be torn away from their families in the case of war. Claudius had also outlawed Christianity in this time period because he wished to be praised as the one supreme god, the Emperor of Rome. Valentine was the bishop of Interamna during this period of oppression. Valentine thought that the decrees of Rome were wrong. He believed that people should be free to love God and to marry. Valentine invited the young couples of the area to come to him. When they came, Valentine secretly performed services of matrimony and united the couples.

Valentine was eventually caught and was brought before the emperor. The emperor saw that Valentine had conviction and drive that was unsurpassed among his men. Claudius tried and tried to persuade Valentine to leave Christianity, serve the Roman empire and the Roman gods. In exchange, Claudius would pardon him and make him one of his allies. St. Valentine held to his faith and did not renounce Christ. Because of this, the emperor sentenced him to a three-part execution. First, Valentine would be beaten, then stoned, and then finally, decapitated. Valentine died on February 14th, 270 A.D.

While in prison, waiting for his sentence to be carried out, Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter, the blind Asterius. During the course of Valentine's prison stay, a miracle occurred and Asterius regained her sight. Valentine sent her a final farewell note. He signed his last note, "From Your Valentine." Even today, this message remains as the motto for our Valentine's Day celebrations.
