I think I remember you Tyreal, or somewhat at least haha, albeit this was during my "pre-Silver Arrows" existence as just Ryleous Arkane... I imagine you probably don't remember me(being a n00b character perhaps at the time) but I know Centaurian needs some help to resurrect the IOC and we all would like to see you on the server again. I hope you'll reconsider re-joining the Crossfire server as alot has changed since the release of 1.8! Take care dewd.

You know... I must say Fixxxer's situation was unfortunate. However, like most here, I don't want waste my time or energy with someone who irrationally comes to this forum, immediately starts condemning/attacking it, lashing out against it and Crossfire's mod author because they cannot get the mod to install correctly due to thier own incompetence. That smacks of both arrogance, ignorance and a lack of patience... Something that has no place here IMHO or wouldn't be tolerated for long. If I was in Fixxxer's shoes, I'd say learning to troubleshoot, research the forums here, learning some paticence and not be afraid to ask others how to overcome a problem when it becomes over your head would have been my first actions, not choices of last resort when you're already exhausted mentally to deal with a frustrating situation as he described.
In light of this situation, there is something I've noticed or observed over the years with Crossfire that I'm really liking interestingly enough though.
It's due to either it's software or the community itself, or both, but the mod seems to generally weed out the immature, impatient and childish individuals that show up from time to time.(well, most of the them anyway!
)
The complexity of the mod and advanced difficulty of it seems to challenge most "Freelancers" with not only the install process sometimes, but with the mod itself as well, as it really pushes you to learn and develop your skills beyond the realm of the vanillia Freelancer game mechanics and techniques to overcome the steep obstacles of the mod.
I've also noticed most of the server goers here are well into their 20s, some into thier 30s and even have folks older than that who are regulars here from what I understand. Therefore the Crossfire community seems to be much more laid back, calm and understanding of situations and circumstances as a result.
Regardless, a little kindness goes a long way towards dealing with people in such situations, but alas, dear Fixxxer chose to give up altogether, therefore making him a quitter... And you know what they say about winners and losers... The only difference between them is that winners never QUIT OR GAVE UP, UNTIL THEY WON.

This is a heads up for all you Crossfire pilots have haven't read the Crossfire 1.8 maps thread, all of the maps for the Sirius, Altair and Inner Core sectors have been uploaded to the Downloads section, this also includes the ASF/CSF Political Map/Record Sheet as well.(see my signature too!
)
I've also dug through my old Freelancer files and uploaded the Lancerthing 2.3 program, which is literally a stand-alone vanilla Freelancer database.(and the last release of it Madpommie ever put out apparently) It's real nice to have and a very handy reference program, for those of us who already know vanilla Freelancer pretty well... It's still pretty useful even if some of it is not accurate with the Crossfire universe.
Enjoy!

Happy B-day Nathaw, hope you have a great one man!

Awesome, thanks OP!
However I accidentally uploaded an older 1.8 Sirius map (not 1.81, you'll see it in the PDF's filename) in there while I was uploading maps, *facepalm* you can feel free to delete it out of the downloads, so as not to confuse people... Thanks in advance!
For everyone else you can find the maps HERE.

FWIW, the NPCs OP's referring to in Sol are the Order ships, like the models he's shown previously. If you've ever been near the Dimensional Rift in Sol since 1.8, you'll see the entire 31st Order fleet(with some of those dandy battleship models like the ones we're drooling over, I have some nice "Polaroids" of all the Order battleships along with their names to boot
) stationary next to it along with an array of Ion Cannons ready to blast anything alien coming out of that rift to subatomic particles.

The "bloom" effect can be turned on or off dewd by hitting SHIFT+F12 anytime in the game.

Happy B-Day dewd!
It's good to see you back around Centaurian, I was wondering where you were recently!

Grand. I like you, you're a kewl dewd.
However, I've got to tell you this the nicest way I can bro and it's from the heart... Loosen your tin-foil hat bro.
Yes, the US government is a hideous disgrace of what the Founding Fathers intended it to be...
Yes, those in the "ivory palaces", global corporations, governments and the wealthy elite with absolute power are corrupted absolutely...
Yes, there are those in the shadow governments who are seeking to not only control the US, but also the world...
Yes, there are all kinds of disasters and horrific events that are increasing in frequency around the world as days go by, with seemingly little that can be overcome quickly with our limited resources and manpower...
Yes, it seems like the whole world is trying to go to hell in a hand-basket.
Unfortunately, I know what all of this is leading up to... But that's a whole other religious and social debate I really don't care to get into here.
So I'm just going to say this much ladies and gentlemen: Our time is short.
My suggestion to you is to all find what is truly important in your life, cherish it, live it, love it and hold on to it dearly... Because things are going to get VERY ugly on this planet in general I suspect in the very near future.
God help us all.

Deeeewwwwd! I thought you were closer in age to me but apparently you're almost a year older than me! Haha! Yay! That means I'm no longer the "old fogie" in the SA!
Seriously though, Happy Birthday Martind!
I hope you have a great one man, with many more to come and hope you throughly enjoyed your day.

Actually the super-massive blackhole at the center of our galazy will turn active and turn our galaxy into a quasar
*facepalm*
Errrr no Hellraiser... Blackholes only do two things in their lifespan over the eons in my understanding, they either shrink due to no more matter in it's proximity(which is pretty rare, as there is matter EVERYWHERE in space and it gravitational well is massive and powerful) for them to consume or they grow in size due to more matter consumption.(as it consumes matter it adds it's mass to it's own) Regardless, the super-massive blackhole at the center of the galaxy is essential to the spinning of the galaxy itself. Without it, the Milky-Way would become an irregular galaxy and therefore possibly fragment over eons.
As to your fears Grand about the galaxy being sucked into a blackhole or precisely, the galaxy's super-massive blackhole that drives it's spinning motion... I'm sorry to say our sun will have gone either supernova(most unlikely) or fizzled out past it's red-giant stage into a white dwarf(most likely) by that time that happens... And we'll all be long, long gone by then, Earth would have become an ancient memory by that time and there is no telling where(or even what) humanity will be by that point in time.

Hey any chance of releasing a MP3 based soundtrack of all the custom background/ambiance music of Crossfire OP? Some of the tunes are really great as they set off the ambiance and the visual improvements you made to some of the systems, namely Vega.

Yea, you guys should try MP and come do some Inner Core Expeditions with us! You'll get to to dish out the pain instead of recieving it for once!
(pitcher, not the catcher LOL) I know we SA have a fun time on IC expeditions, myself especially and we try to sponsor them and set them up every once in a while.
Check out the recent |PX| sponsored "Operation Wolfpack" and the SA_/|PX| sponsored "Operation Impact".

Alright, screw filedropper, files are now hosted individually and locally...
Scroll a few posts up to get the Altair and Inner Core maps, here are the Sirius maps. Unfortunately, they are still too big to host locally, so here's more permanent host links:

Hey guys, I was the one who brought Darkwolf up to speed last night, he told me he and his friend will be tackling Ancients tomorrow, I suspect they'll make their way to the IC either late tomorrow or the next day they log in, perhaps Saturday?
If you and Cresty need any additional wingman/help in the Inner Core, the Silver Arrows are here to assist Darkwolf. :]

OUCH! The russian ruble is equal to .02 in euros at current exchange rates!
Damn, Mongol... Sorry to find the ruble is still not doing well as it should IMHO...
And the Euro is vastly overrated in exchange rates, it's been dropping like a rock lately thanks to the recent soverign debt woes of several EU member nations, namely Greece... It's going to hit parity with the US dollar soon I suspect.
