I'd have to echo your sentiments Grand, there is really only a few good legal commodities to trade to compensate for lucrative BMG smuggling. I'm not expecting to make 100 million an hour here folks mind you, but maybe put it at half that on the right route per every few days perhaps. There are honestly in my exploration only 3 really good legit commodities worth trading and only one of them is remotely worthwhile mining it at as well. Due to the recent bru-ha-ha over all the BMG crap unfortunately, I'm having to seriously reconsider mining as a viable alternative, with the right ship of course... Now I just hope I can find the commodity with mining due to the currently fubared drop rates...

Errrr ahhh... Nice job Mongol...
But the Crossfire cartography job is already taken.

Meh, NVidia's still late to the game, especially with DX11... They have already seceded alot of market share to AMD/ATI over it, particularly the high end where DX11 support is important. As far as the hype of the GTX 580, after the fiasco that is the "Fermi" generation of Nvidia cards, I won't be holding my breath, much less have that kinda of bread for one or have a board that can accept it.
Sad to say most high end graphics cards IMHO these days are nothing but "e-penile measuring sticks" for the either very fanboyish or they very rich.(both with more money than brains most likely) But hey, if you got the money and you want one, go for it I say.

Yes Grand, very old news bro....
Hell, here recently I've read they're fixing to drop the ATI branding on the packaging altogether soon and all formerly ATI graphics cards will be just be branded as AMD!
CPUs, GPUs and chipsets! AMD will truly be platform centric now!

It's a little hard to follow seeing as it's only frame by frame, but utterly fascinating to say the least. I see how the original opening trailer came about and was changed compared to this.
As it's been theorized, Digital Anvil had some huge plans for this game, but sadly alot of it got scaled back due to the time frame they had already used and deadline restraints due to Microsoft I suspect.
If anyone looks at some of the pre-release trailers, you'll notice alot of stuff that did not make the final cut that looked really awesome but sadly, we will probably never see in-game... Unless OP decides to implement it or already has in some way. (Omega-13 system, well it's in somewhat in the Crossfire now as the Inner Core system, stuff like the different, more "Starlancer" like battle/NAV computer, the folding wings of the Liberty Defender and Rheinland Valkyrie, the much longer SP story... )

Awesomeman, you might want to wait and see how the HD 6870(single GPU) fares before you jump on the dual GPU HD 5970, as from the preliminary reports are showing, the 6870 is nearly on par with the 5970!
I suspect since it is a single GPU card, it will be quite cheaper and cooler running as well!

May your birthday wishes come true and your birthdays be many sir! Have a great one Sam.
Ohhhh and save some cake for me man!

Hey Ryleous
Cursing your members in game? You need to send me the screenie real quick via PM. If you don't, then my next action is going to be shooting. I dont care if you are GR or not, you dont call people out in the forum unless it is required. 99% of the time it is not.
This isn't me calling you out Gunny, this is me asking you nicely, as a gentlemen, as a SA Captain, without my shiney GR badge or powers.
There was no need to take this any further here in this thread anyway...
Without further ado, you have a PM sir.

Smugglers are not neutral....
Hunted by pirates even more, and fined by police to deathAlso smugglers are on illegal activity, so they're not doing 'good for most' being illegal, like drug smuggling
They are doing it great, with going against them it only motivates some to try something else...
And Gunny stated his status with Police, he will do his copper job with other 'police'men too. Wasn't any insult so no need to worry about that
Even it is a bit too 'on face' and could be provokative in some point of view...
Yes, to be clear Michael, I have no problem with Gunny doing his RP job as a policeman, that's fine and within his role on the server, I'm all for it. I have told my clansmen several times in the past if they smuggle, do so at their own risk!
-
YES, we're quite aware of that Gunny and have addressed the issue with our personnel. A smuggling ban is in place until further notice for all SA personnel.
I'd also appreciate it if you would be much more cordial in your responding to RP matters in the future instead of launching personal insults and cursing at my fellow clansmen in-game, of which is wholly unnecessary and AFAIK as a GR, against server rules, thanks.

So you are cops, after all.
Yep.
XENO-cops.
We issue (permanent)traffic stops on all hostile aliens by use of ship weaponry.
-
Haha, same here Michael, I'll toot Faaby's horn some more! U GO GURL! Now the Silver Arrows have a totally human SAC High Counsel!
As Director of Operations and General Manager of the Silver Arrow Laboratories, I look forward to working and cooperating with your new department and responsibilities Captain Vox! *salutes*
-
Sad but true, but at least it's not permanent folks! We've just got so many new recruits that we gotta slow down the process, catch back up to train them and get them intergrated into the SA machine!
So bear with us until then, by all means feel free to join us on the SA forums or contact us in game if you need a wingman! Thanks for your understanding in advance pilots!
-
Meh, I don't think the paperwork ever truly leaves Admiral...
Dealing in information always seems to create plenty of it.
Granted, it's time we start getting back to our role in more missions and operations against the hostile aliens and improve our roster's talents and abilities.
-
I need to schedule some training time with you this week Zeroth and again, good work Lieutenant! You'll probably be schooling my ass in PvP for a while.
I think I've got a decent and effective setup, I just need more time with it and to perfect my moves, strategies and so forth.
-
Heh, thanks Michael!
Actually Michael, having an automatic transmission is good for in-city traffic and commuting that is very stop and go, whereas you'd probably burn up a clutch on a manual doing that crap in slow traffic all day.
Having a manual tranny however is good not only for fuel economy but also for more control over a vehicle as Faaby mentioned, you can downshift to slow yourself down instead of riding the break. Other benefits allow for instant shifting to lower gears for either passing cars or higher gears for lowering RPMs when cruising to conserve fuel. Also, when you learn the right shift points with a manual, you can ALWAYS nearly accelerate faster than a vehicle with a auto transmission, even if they have slightly more horsepower.(I've blown alot of fools off the line with big honking trucks that have auto trannys bahahahaha) The gear ratios, RPMs (RPM gauge is like mandatory on manual tranny vehicles as well IMHO) and overall torque(of which in-line engines have in spades) are the key to quick acceleration, but of course lots of horsepower always helps too!

No, that's highway Shockwave, to be precise, I recorded that on a recent trip to the beach in southern Alabama where I took my truck.
I think it gets closer to 23-25 in town with my driving... The actual EPA fuel economy ratings for my truck are:
4 cyl, 2.8 L, 5-speed manual - 20 city / 27 highway
Oh yea, the Audis are nice, I've actually seen a few around here every once in a blue moon, they are rare though.
Don't they make some cars with a 5-cylinder, or is it some other automaker in Europe I'm thinking about? The larger engines of the Colorado truck I drive are 5-cylinders and man, they pump out as much power as the most powerful 6-cylinders.
