see, as a former CFPD Officer, and noticing that there is more senseless PvP then there is Role Playing (as it IS a Role Playing server) i do my best to instigate rp as an officer.

For example, at one point, i asked Knightshade to help start some trouble for pure RP purposes. one such instance, i had stopped Knightshade for a broken taillight. since i smelled alcohol, and saw rum vapor leaking from his engine exhaust, i told him to land on whatever planet was nearby so i could perform a proper sobriety test.

instead, he decided to take his chances and thus we embarked on a chase throughout the Sirius Sector. it came to a point in the chase where i hailed a BG soldier and another CFPD Officer and requested backup. about the same time, Knightshade had done the same. from that point, it became a PvP clusterfuck and my fun had been defused because my genius plot to start in character role playing drama (vs "he said she said" drama) became the usual accusations of jumping, hacking, dock killing and BS like that...

what wouldn't i love to see more in the community is a thread someone makes because they want to take their convictions of DUI, DWAI, Hit and Run, Speeding, Drug and Moonshine trafficking and Assualt on a police officer's feelings to Court...well a fictional court in which a player who gets arrested or fined can appeal the ruling and potentially get their 250k credits back (or end up with a heftier fine or prison sentence)

more RP can spawn from that in which pirates can go break into a prison (or system in which the convict is supposed to stay) and bust their comrade out...hell i tried this shit before but people aren't as willing as people think other's are. since Officer's are at a record low, then maybe in order to boost recruitment, they can perform police raids where pirates frequent systems with freelancers and show that one can have fun other than taxing, being taxed or commit violent and random acts of PvP. i'm probably going to get on the server here in a bit. currently, my position as a freelance Mercenary doesn't let me instigate trouble or law-enforcement type actions (well...at least without proper compensation)

Considering a junkie stayed at my house for a while, he did better than a guy i knew from Job corps who also smoked in the sense that the stoner guy from job corps fiended my weed and abused my hospitality after his ex kicked him out for the same reason....at least the junkie put some food in my fridge and a few bucks in my hand....

because i was really really high, i started panicking because i didn't know what it was. i tried to ignore the drone from my swamp cooler, but since i'm a huge star wars nerd, i couldn't help but wonder if i was secretly at that performance in a past life and my brain and at this point i may go on a stoner tangent....

since i zoned out to the drone for 10 minutes, standing in the kitchen while my hot pockets sat patiently in the microwave, my ears started picking up more noises that for some reason made my swamp cooler much more musical that one could imagine. if listening to Tool blazed out of your mind is a good idea, listen to my swamp cooler at full blast (or Flux Pavillion's Bass Cannon...i've nearly lost my mind zoning out to that song...)

moral of the story? remember to take you're hot pockets out of the microwave...lukewarm hot pockets aren't tasty

ok. because i'm a stoner, i know i'm not the only on Crossfire who smokes weed. i know a couple people, but i'm not sure if they'd like that kind of thing being publicly known about them, so i'll let them speak up

now i dont want to start any flame wars let alone friendly discussions to start. generally because pot is illegal Federally (Colorado ftw!!!) and throughout most of the world and it's also a very controversial subject (in all of it's fact or fictional topics) i want to keep this a place where people who use marijuana medicinal and recreational can convene, share tips on growing, recommend munchies and associated recipies, or advertise some paraphernalia that one does not need or needs cash and has to part with $250 water bongs (always tragic )

keep in mind, i'm slightly paranoid that i'm spied on by the US Government (seriously, who'd spy on a stoner?) and plus this is a *technically* illicit drug we're talking about, so i ask you to keep a relax "open airwaves" state of mind (i.e dont talk about selling weed or advertise it or whatever. dont get me wrong, i've smoked some bomb diggity weed and boy do i have stories about that. if you have a less than favorable opinion on the stuff, do us all a favor: shut up, listen to funny stories or gtfo

i've tried starting various RP on the server...it all ends up the same: PvP fest with at least 1-2 people crying about my battleship. "it's not fair" they say. well it's perfectly fair, you just dont know how to fight battleships...

.1 is the same as .100 - it's expressed in terms of thousandths which is what i commonly prefer to use. it's verbally expressed either 1 tenth or 100 thousandths.

mili means .001 or 10-3
you're expressing it as Deci means .1 or 10-1.

those with double digit pings their decimal form would look like (as i expressed in my first post) .026 or 26 thousandths of a second. if you're going to cause trouble because you didn't like the way i either 1) outsmarted you, 2) confused you and you have to feed incorrect information to confuse me (which you did for about 2 seconds) or 3) made you feel that the way i express decimals is incorrect. i got into it with a guy at job corps once about a similar thing. .1 is 1/10 and is the same as .100 is 1/100th. personal preference and the fact you didn't catch i stated clearly (i will go back and emphasize it) that i am speaking in terms of thousandths and not anything else...

miliSECOND means thousandth of a second. so someone with a 160ms ping means it takes .160 (or 160 thousandths) of a second for the host and client to communicate

bottom line: personal preference. if i announce in terms of thousandths you can't just "Change" it
for future reference if something is stated in terms of thousandths, dont change shit to tenths or hundredths because it's going to confuse the hell outta me. learned it the hard way while i was learning about machining that you can't just "drop" the zero's if the dimension is stated in thousandths. if a dimension is called out as .120, it doesnt magically become .12 because it's going to fuck the whole part up. the tolerence for 2 place decimal is usually about +/- .01 and 3 place is about +/- .003

and to be honest, i'd love to see some of these scripts for myself. i dont want someone to show me i want someone to give them to me so i can look at them. it's the internet. for you know i could actually some american who has a crap ton of money living in beverly hills with a hot supermodel wife. so prove to me these scripts exist. otherwise keep your mouth shut about hacks...

But yes silence is the absence of sound. to emulate it, go down to a local recording studio and sit in the booth that's padded from wall to wall, floor to ceiling with high quality, sound dampening foam. my high school had one. i couldn't go in and stay for too long. the silence made my head hurt...

Vishnu, it wouldn't get abused if it was limited to the house the player is in. maybe have it only usable x amount of times per server restart.

or combine me and Michael's idea. create dockable battleships, have those with battleships able to use teleport/warp so many times per server restart. then if a player wishes, he can pay said player with a battleship to warp him across the Sirius sector...it's a good opportunity to make money and instigate illegal human trafficking RP. maybe a pirate wants to get into Reinland but coppers are at the entrance to the Hamburg system at a checkpoint style thingy...

i'm quite content with the features so far. i dont disapprove nor endorse the current suggestions however. a teleport feature would be nice. not go from Cambridge to NT, but have it so they can only travel within a certain house. so if i'm in Cambridge, i can only go within systems in Bretonia before i have to manually fly out of the house. and of course balance it for only VHF fighters.
