Just a meer obsavation that the tides have changed and the balance is renewed! An interesting era is approaching where the teritory is just as significant as the system and goods they own.

Will this mean more fighting or even secret underhand dealing?

Shall there be blood and bitter words?

Will Freelancers hold the key to weapons and misdeads?

I can not wait to find out and see what the future brings, maybe, just maybe the rouges will strech forth from New Berlin and California in the Sirrus system and brave the truely unknown Sov system.

Will any Smuggler sanctioned clan appear?

These are all questions that the future may reveal!

The real question now is...will you be part of it?

I have read some interesting posts here regarding this occupation of the Sov System. I am certain when I write that Freelancers will be looked after that I speak the truth.

Yeah, fighting a new way will be problamatic for many. Interesting thing is that a great deal of effort and time has been spent by many developers to make a unique and diverse universe for us to enjoy.

I see Rackteer trying to make this universe more open and worthwhile in a RP way for all clans and all we can do is state the drawbacks....

Regarding the Crashes,

I had it happen to me while fighting X. I could see no explanation for why as ping etc was fine. It is the only recent incident I have had.

Regarding the install procedures. I followed the dont Panic guide. The important thing to remeber is this thread was started to address several issues that I and others have expierenced. These ranged from the server not being listed to files vanishing on crashes and on one occasion my entire game vanished.

I run Firefox and Kaspersky AV and Firewall.

I know that others are using AVG, Norton pain in the butt AV and Sophos.

although as a side note I did try finding the server with all firewalls and antivirus off and still had the same prob. I believe Fixer tried this as well.

I can black box and stress test using load runner if needed but my current licensce limits me to 50 users. I didnt plan to renew the licensce as it cost £40k. Beside testing 10,000 users on the server would be pointless.

I think OP would prefer white box anyway as this would be the priority for release.

I have a few bits of software kicking around ill have a look and see if any of it would be of use and make life easier.

As stated at the start of the thread and I am not the only person who has had this problem. Others like me have had files vanish etc

As I stated, it works fine for me now but I have used the 1.7e which as others have stated should not work. It has also fixed Fixers problems which were the same as mine.

My game is now stable and downloads fine. I have not had any problem finding the server or had random crashes and vanishing files.

I think Huor pointed out a possible cause for some of the problems. I did look into it but since I havnt had a problem recently I cant confirm his solution. It could explain why the 1.7e is working thou thou seeing that some files were replaced.

My concern thou is not for myself it is for the others who I have spoken with who cant even find the server or have had the vanishing files and crashes that I did.

Seriously, It is only working now with 1.7e...please read what I have written!

I am a ISEB certified software tester if you need anything checked. I can also run Loadrunner to check for bottlenecks and deal with whitebox testing if needed.

This problem is still going on and it seems nobody gives a toss. Michael again has been unable bring up the server!

I still have friends with the same prob who have now given up! Oh and BTW I am still running 1.7e without a glitch since I followed prcedure stated above.

Haeger, I would really appreciate your input as a man in the know. I have spoken to a few people now that have this prob.

If you want all the details ill provide em again and also get Fixer to provide his input.

You were the first genuine person I met on this server and I am greatfull that you recruited me to CFPD.

You spent hours teaching me how to fly and to maintain my ship, even what oil and fuels I should I use.

I remember my first weeks when you introduced me to Kermit, Gunny, Fixer, Sev and Blaster. All those first patrols and even my first kill. Never to forget my first Doughnut and coffee and the jokes told!

The hours we spent talking when the server was quiet and the anocdotes we shared. The talk of sunny beaches, beautiful women and what we do when we retired from a cops life.

The one man that would always have time no matter what. A symphatic ear and a leader to fear. Respect is hard earned and nothing trivial. I take my hat off and feel glad, even honoured...

Yet it has been reported before and nothing done!

I have seen chars over the year who have used VMware. One instance I witnessed 5 chars online at same time by one person. This happens regular.

My advice is do what you want as no one will stop you, even complaints are ignored!
