This is one of the reason I am posting all this. I seem to be updating files through the launcher ok as well. Also this is the most stable the game has been for me. I have had non of the aforementioned problems.

I didnt state above but on my last install I used 1.7a followed by extracting the 1.7 e files direct to directory. Previously, I tried a clean 1.7 several times and also 1.7a several times in these instances I had the same problems come back.

So I am baffled as to why the CF is working for me now? Why I am not getting any problems and more importantly why I had the problems in the first place.

I have also passed on some details which may help others,esp gfx probs. You mistake the above post a bit thou. I was reporting facts. Yes files vanished includding my entire game on 2 occasions. I am not the only one. Yes the 1.7e patch has fixed all of the problems I have had. My game is perfect now and so are friends who had similar probs.

Huor I can understand the duplicate files perhaps causing probs as you mentioned above. I am prepared to discuss further and with detail. These probs have happened with clean installs as well. They have been repeated problems and untill my last 6 installs in one sitting as mentioned above have not been fixed.

There is also another factor that I have confirmed 2 of us have expierenced but untill I have more details I will not raise.

[size=3]Several players, including myself and new server members have expierenced strange problems with CF. I have inclosed a basic copy of CFPD posts with some basic details.

The main concern has been the recent vanishing files after server disconnection.

CF PROBLEMS

Some of you may be aware that I have expierenced problems with the game. A recent PM's have confirmed that others have had the same problem as me.

Problems are:

Server not comming up and screen was freezing.

Random Error 5 after game crash or disconnection and then unable to launch again.

Error: file 'C:\Program Files\EXE\freelancer.ini' Vanished, on one occasion the entire game vanished as well!

These problems have occured at least 2-3 times each since I have come back. I have re-installed and patched etc.

After the game vanished it took 6 installs to get it back and have the mod work.

The Error 5 and ini file probs always happen when I get a disconnection from game server.

I have the game working again but am running 1.7e. I have not had any probs since but this is not even a Vista machine.

I am very concerned that my client files are vanishing this way and Fixer is rather concerned too.

Any thoughts?

I have another one:

After a Game restart! - Your Systems do not have a 3D Grafics Card restart the Computer.

After a Computer restart all is well.

Atm. CF is more than sensible. I realy hope Fixer get his Problems cleared.

The only issues I have are during the loading, when my screen will turn into a molten pool of white for a few seconds.

Sadly most are correct mate but? Did they consider the fans in the tower You have? Do you have an alumination as well?

Ok, simple, how many Hard drives you have or DVD drives?

This all effects it!

For example..are you running twin satas..are they mirorring?

Now thats enough to make most rethink but..........What external USB 2.0 you have running?

Essentially my friend you need to think who can suck power like a leeche. Remember basic physics in terms of PC is;

less watts! always = more amps .... which means she is hot!

She is hot means means more dollars and damage!

I plan to look at this during the week. It will be great to sort it. It is a shame that FL is the only game I have had res probs with using the new HDTV LCD. It would be my fav game as well..typical...just typical!

If I get stuck, I shall post here so others trying this may follow.

I really need to get this to work as well. I have a new monitor (HDTV) that I am now using. Sadly FL is not happy working at a resolution above 1024 x 768. I do not have problems with any other application. As more people are going the big screen way, perhaps this should be followed up on.

I followed most of what said, I have changed res in perf and that works but still no hud or partly missing. I am happy to do it all myself but could you point me in the right direction as to do the modding of hud gui's.

Once I get it working fully, I would be happy to write a guide etc for others. Just need a hand to get started.

Ladies and Gents,

A quick question. I am making some flash movies and was wanting to know if it is poss to turn off all the screen GUI's so that I have a nice clean picture.

I dont mean "Backspace" I want all the HUD stuff to vanish. If you could help with this I shall appreciate it!

There was talk of faliure to comply with European leglistation hence this is why the case has been in the European High court for the last 3 years!

Microsoft has already been fined for this and paid up but there is still the possibility of a bann under monoply laws.

If there is genuine interest in this I can look up the relevant articles for all to see?

I am still very new to the server but would like to comment on a simple observation.

I have noticed that many players find it difficult to to see the difference from the SP char and the game char!

I could go on.... but I ask you all to stop and think, consider how hard it is to wear two hats and remain respected?

I mearly state this as a noob and point out that Gunny is not the only SP who I have personnaly witnessed recieve "comments" when trying to play and have fun and not be SP.

I also point out that things said to me by a SP char have been hard to swallow but I have and further more I have left it at just that!

I have found this server very welcomming and I have really enjoyed all the personalities here from all clans. It saddens me to think that others do not feel the same way!

I also wonder why it is so hard to see that we NEED people to ensure that fair play is present? Just think of when you have had needed a SP to help and now ask this to yourself.."are we better off without em?"

I really like the random dynamic trade, I think it could push full time traders to try other ways of making credits and change the RP a lot. Especially if we dont know when sol run is going to be next etc and will be nice to see smugglers and pierats work for the routes and test the cops too

I would like to pick your collective brains. I am looking for a desktop video/sound capture software package. I have previously used Camcordia but honestly didnt think much of it.

Also I would prefer if files could be saved as .flv without having to convert.

Any suggetions?
