Well it looks so much better and untill now i have not had any problems.
It is not more than a feature that the developers of freelancer could have put in by
themselves.

Players are not able to dock at another player. It is not possible in Freelancer.
You might be able to create new bases by copying and editing some of the files but a moving
base would have completely different features which are new to the Freelancer "engine".As far as I know it is actually possible to do it by console command: Lets say you see your
leader in his battleship and type /dock. Like that you might be able to "dock" at a planet
but as far as iI know you would undock from this planet instead of from the ship.Also thiss would need a hell lot of organisation and maintenance as clans arrive and leave
from time to time and positions in these clans change.There are ways to have a Clanbase but in my oppinion it is just not worth it.

Sweet textures! I hope we may fly some of the ships soon

Its allready said in the mod managers readme of Crossfire: A giant Jumpgate was found near Malta in Omicron Alpha.
If you are lucky you might even find a faster way to all the new systems.
Anyway multiplayer is much better. -
The Defence turrents might work as a CD as they also attract missiles and mines and have a turn rate
-
Right now it looks much better. NPCs are flying smooth and the server is running for quite a while now
Thank you -
Insert your freelancer CD and copy all fonts to your Windows/fonts/
No need to reinstall Freelancer -
Im having PvPs in NB right now and the server crashes after few seconds.
It was online for less than 3 minutes. Something really seems to be wrong here... -
Freelancer mit Blur - Effekt das wär doch was...

If I remember right she had a repair ship in Menton...
Hence, she must have solved it -
wenn du noch geld für einen train hast machst du die paar millionen doch im nu

If you really want to kill a battleship coalition torpedos might be the weapon of choice but
who'd buy them for this one occasion?
However remember that its obvious where you are cause in most systems there is only one
dockable planet. -
If you read the Crossfire story in the mod manager it says that a new Jumpgate was found in
Omicron Alpha. Its really not hard to find...
In my oppinion new players should follow the story anyways cause thats what it was made

Nice idea. Thanks for sharing!
As a left handed player I always thought it was a disadvantage that ctrl and shift were
practicly useless but now all keys around my beloved cursor keys will work in some way -
Yup E12 Error right from the beginning

I tried it with 1440x900 and it works fine for me:
If the HUD does not touch the upper and lower boundary of your screen you should modify cameras.ini and change the WinCamera value
But if you were worried because the HUD is not exactly expanded to the left and right side, forget it.The original problem is that the HUD windows have absolute positions optimized for the original resolutions while status bar has relative values.
By changing the WinCamera you just "zoom in and out" untill the HUD fits into the heigth of the monitor. The value is apparently relative again so it does
not matter what resolution you use but what mode (normal or widescreen)
Here is how it looks with the original Camera but new resolution and fonts:The font sizes are absolute values but they should work as i made them pretty small already.
If this doesnt solve anything please post a screenshot

Is it possible to mod the resolution to 1680x1050? I would not know myself but I have seen other games that had lower a resolution and where someone has modded to a higher resolution.
Yes, it is possible. To change the resolution you have to edit two ini files (create backups youll need them when you play with normal screens again):
1. one is located in your documents folder /My Games/Freelancer/PerfOptions.ini
That is the relevant partQuote[Display]
size= 1680, 1050
color_bpp= 32 (example)
depth_bpp= 24 (example)2. The other one is the Freelancer.ini. You'll find it in your FL directory/EXE/freelancer.ini
Quote[Display]
fullscreen = 1
size = 1680,1050 (no space behind the comma )
color_bpp = 32
depth_bpp = 24Now you play with 1680x1050 but it looks bad because the HUDs are at wrong places
The solution is easily found at other forums:
You have to modify cameras.ini found in FreeLancer path/Data like this:Quote[WinCamera]
fovx = 63.504809977813375[CockpitCamera]
fovx = 70
znear = 2.000000[ThirdPersonCamera]
fovx = 70[DeathCamera]
fovx = 70
You might need to disable the writing protection first to save it.
thats how it would look like now:Now we go for the fonts as they are very large yet.
open Data/FONTS/fonts.ini and use this:
Quote[TrueType]
nickname = ButtonText
font = Agency FB
fixed_height = 0.030000[TrueType]

fixed_height = 0.023000Save it without protection again and you should be fine
Thats the optimized version with much smaller playernames and text fonts and an optimized Font size for the nav map.
BTW The hint with the cameras.ini was known on the berlin city server forums, the fonts are my work though
