And when you roleplay on the server, yes look at licenses, but also look at actions and what people do.

I am trying the demo at the moment as I was interested in it when it first came out.

Seems very complicated and some unlearning is involved as the left mouse button is for firing rather than choosing objects.

I suppose some games have spolit me and I need to have all the info about trading and commodidites available to me in game and Dark Star reminds me of having to write a lot of stuff on paper.

Combat seems a bit heavy going, the ships feeling less fluid than in Freelancer but maybe that will change as I upgrade the ship.

I agree with my whole heart that SMG be given permission to have their own clan system.

And if it comes to pass - I look forward to being kicked out of their system by the SMG muscle.

I would say the SOS route is a blessing for the server - kindly given to us by OP.

There is a lot of room there to do roleplays -

Once I even worked with Kerm to get get those tax avoiding IOC

It seems the cops are taking more of an interest in it - why when Dopple (The richest man in all time) was doing it - the cops were no where to be seen - I cant say

But looking forward - it looks like a healthy situation so long may it continue.

And that was about fairplay and respect and to stop this KOS business.

Mercs are perfectly warn cops to stay away from their trains in system chat -

I heard this done before and should be perfectly reasonable

I think many of us come here with strong roleplay intentions and ideas to have fun - but the constant pvp just wears you down

I have long said that police/pirate roleplay is very similar and almost two diff sides of same coin

As for warnings - I can say police and military have always attacked pirates without warning, it's been that way since I joined LP in Januray - and it has been that way since I joined the server.

It is for this reason, pirates attack both these factions without warning as well -

Those of you that remember the ASF/CSF roleplay will remember the license practically gave you the legal right to open fire without warning.

When I first began to do rp here - some of you will remember I was very talkative rather than confrontational.

I prefered to give warnings and chase people, not to just kill them. I often used to say "CSF invader please leave our space" or other things even before I saw people, I would say it on system chat.

As I pirate I would say on system chat "All cops - tax please", or "Anyone with a CFPD in their name - tax pls" etc and so on - before I even saw them.

However, as none of us like to pay tax, pay a fine, drop our cargo, etc - many people have concluded its better to just kill someone as talking is not gonna get you anywhere.

Now - if we were more generous in our roleplay, and not only do our thing, but help others do theirs - this place may be better

The least we can do - I suppose - is give a warning - but if that always leads to the same outcome (ie pvp) - then what is the point?

It's unrealistic and unreasonable to expect people to be 100% consistent in their roleplay - that is never gonna happen and will lead to arguments on server and on forum about he should not have done that if he is a merc, a pirate or a cop

We need a more flexible approach a more cooperative approach

Some of these online meetings can be real tedious - a recent one with LPs took about 2 hours and the actions out of it could be summarised in about 3 lines.

However, I am begining to think regular scheduled meetings within a clan, or even amongst server clans is a good thing

It helps us to stay in touch and ask questions, disseminate info, get to know each opther etc

It's taken me 2 years to learn about MSN

Well unknown to OP and the Server Police,

For 500mill I managed to purchase a second hand invisibility cloak from a disgruntled former Bee Gee the other night and decided to gate crash OP's birthday party in Custodian.

It was a lavish doo with lots of good food, great entertainment and real interesting ladies

I decided to test OP's mythical power when the Birthday Cake came in and just as he was about to blow the Birthday Candles out (all 70 of them) - I jumped in (after pushing him out of the way) and closed my eyes and made my most desired and wanted wish and dream.

Then the Bee Gees grabbed me and kicked me out of Custodian and said only honoured guests were invited - not riff raff

Well I waited and waited for a whole day - and my wish never came true. I give up - it's just a myth, a fable, I can deny the rumour - OP has no magic powers.

But today, it was like a different day.

I woke up by a huge knock on the door - the postman brought some good tidings. The day was feeling a bit like Xmas.
