    All Hail OP!!

Walks up to OP and presents him a wreath of pink flowers and many kisses.

    Looks amazing I must say.

I hope and wish that some of the other ships are slightly tweaked to allow more of them becoming serious choices in the ongoing roleplay and battles - that just seems a waste to me as they are currently not.

Nevertheless - it look f amazing and fantastic

    All Hail OP!!

Everyone say it 100 times a day so that OP gets the benefit of our mental well wishing to support him :-

    A few things Dop

    1. Where is the POS and how much discount can I get for my corp for old times sake?

    2. You need to take some risks and chances and some pay off and some dont - I would reckon most of yours would pay off - if you only paid a little attention and didnt buy ammo marked up at 1000000000% OR fly through low sec

    3. Congrats mate - I think you meant you now have one billion in loose change - I would reckon you were a billionaire only after a few days on EVE - I never had any doubt :-)

    Hey mates

I came online tonight and went searching for some target practise so went into FP7 - every time I killed a Nomad my pc crashed to desktop - and then I found a small problem reconnecting as it said I was already connected.

I was on even earlier and just trading in NB without any probs.

My settings are all the same as before, ie 3d sounds off etc

    Any ideas?

I will have a go at these

    1. Freelancer mod does not change the vanilla systems - so new ships will be available in new locations - although some of the new equipment will be avilable in vanilla systems

    2. You will have access to some of the new ships - but as with vanilla - some of the them are level dependent

    3. If I remember corerctly I was able to fly some of the new ships after the Hovis race mission -

    4. I dont think the locations of wrecks in vanilla systems were changed - CF adds to - but does not amend the existing vanilla systems

    Scamming

Well, we went through a few other ways of making cash in EVE

We already discussed mining, doing missions, trading - even a little pvp. (others are manufacturing, research, contracts, bounty hunting, exploration, salvaging etc)

A few of you would have had the pleasure to meet me online in Crossfire and no doubt my reputation of honesty, integrity, a helpful aider for the law abidding, all that could have been a little intimidating.

Throw all those misconceptions away before you step into EVE - if it can be done, and if the game machinics allow it - it is Legal.

In that respect - EVE is black and white.

I will give you a few examples

    1. What those smugglers are suiciding in Sea Of Shadows and respawning in California?

    2. What in that ASF/CSF battle you were outnumbered by 3v1 and they spanked you to death?

    3. Pirates charging you 500mill for a Battleship?

If you went to the EVE forums with those sort of problems a lot of people will respond - "Go back to WOW and put your nappy back on moron!"

Read this thread here about scams

    http://myeve.eve-online.com/in…p?a=topic&threadID=781993

-> "Join our uber 1337 corp for a fee!" scam where the recruiter advertises this awesome corp to you and asks you for a fee. Fee can be anywhere from 5 mil to 500 mil.Solution: Never join corporation that asks you to pay. There are always more recruiters out there than recruits. Competition for recruits is high, so real recruiters will never ask you to pay.

-> 0.0 "we'll jump your stuff to our base" scam. When joining a corporation in 0.0 you will have to have your stuff somehow transported there. Unless you got your own carrier or want to make 10+ jump in a hauler through 0.0 you will have to rely on other people for transport.Solution: Ask for a security deposit to cover the value of your stuff.

-> A variation on "join our uber 1337 corp for a fee" is where the recruiter says you have to pay a fee because everyone is required to have a tech II fitted battleship in a station XYZ in system YZX. The fee is to pay for this battleship and you'll get the ship itself when you arrive at the destination.Solution: Ask to set it up via item exchange contract. Private item exchanges cost 10K in fees.

-> Inviting people to join your corporation only to gank them on the way there.Solution: Don't be eager to join to load up a hauler with all your stuff and head right for their office. Don't give out exact time when you're coming by to apply. Fly there in a shuttle or frigate.

-> Inviting people to join corp so that you can freely kill and pod them since Concord does not interfere when corporation members shoot at each other.Solution: Don't get your Estamel fitted Raven out until you begin to trust your corpmates. Remember that the CEO and directors can see what ship and system you're in at any time. This sort of tactic is very rare since recruitment is very tedious process. Very rarely targets are newbies. More often targets are players suspected to be rich, players who can be cornered in an expensive ship and ransomed.

My old mate Dopple fell for a small market scam recently and paid through his nose for some ammo

I will give you a tip to avoid these in the future -

ALWAYS USE THE DETAILS MARKET SCREEN TO BUY

Dont use the one with many pictures - use the one with many numbers, lists of locations etc

In the interests of exploration and research - I did try out a scam recently and was rewarded with a 550mill prize for a 5mill investment.

    Basic Trading Guide

The first thing - there are comprehensive trading guides in the EVE forums under MARKET DISCUSSIONS - scroll down a bit and you will find them.

You will find some sticky essential threads - here is a good one here

    http://myeve.eve-online.com/in…p?a=topic&threadID=487360

Read em all and read through the forum posts going back the last month or so -

That's it folks. My job is done.

Ok - okay. More information required right?

    1. BUY LOW - SELL HIGH

You will need to acquire stock to sell - you want to place BUY ORDERS to do this.

With BUY ORDERS, you dictate the price you want to pay to buy stuff and everyone has the ability to place BUY ORDERS right from the start.

Let's see, an Example1, BUY AND HAUL

You are visiting relatives in Sovetskya and you notice many pilots are selling their old run-down over-the-hill Shrouds and upgrading them for Laggs. An idea pops into your head!

You offer all the sellers one dollar more than the price they would have got when selling their Shrouds - you wait until you get about 10 of them - then take them all to NY to sell at Tarsus prices +5mill. How much would you make?

    Example2, BUY AND HAUL

You set up a buy order in Sigma 17 to buy all code names for 100k each - you will buy upto 100 of them. 10 Million goes out of your account (into something called escrow) to your shopkeeper in Sigma 17 - for business. This cash can be returned to you if you suddenly decide to cancel the order - the money is not lost to you -

After you acquire enough to start a small selling shop, you transport them to NY to sell them for 500k each - how much would you make?

EVE Example 1- no hauling required

As you start playing EVE you notice a lot of people take up mining initially to make cash. You see there are some beginner ships that give bonus's to mining and that in the market screen - there is a 250k gap between the lowest seller and the highest buyer.

Captain Jack is selling his Navitas for 500k and Commodore Privvy wants to buy one for 250k

As Priv is rarely on - you overcut his buying price and offer 251k and lo and behold - you acquire a Navitas for 251k.

You then try and sell that ship for 499k - undercutting Captain Jack who can't get out of Cardiff - and you make a tidy profit - even after you pay the tax. Repeat and rinse until the profit margin becomes too low to get involved in.

    AZ's ACTUAL EVE EXAMPLE 1

Basic Miners - everyone needs em to mine at the beginning - I look at the market and notice in my region they are generally on sale for 2,000 ISK and people are buying them for 1 ISK (yes - I do mean 1 ISK) - I ask myself - is there an opportunity here?

I set up a buy order for 2 ISK - to buy 500 of them - within 5 jumps of my present location.

Very quickly they start coming in all over the place - I try and sell em before the other guys realise I am onto their little earner.

I sell the Basic Miners for 1,999 ISK (see below about sell orders) , that I had bought for 2 ISK -

    2. SELLING

When you right click and try and sell something - you will automatically be given the best price available - from other traders that have set up buy orders - look closely and you will see an advanced option - use that to set the prices YOU WANT to sell at.

You CAN right-click and sell eveything you want, keep an eye on the indicator that shows whether you are selling below or above the AVERAGE price. If you are about to sell an item for -50% of the average price - think again, you may want to use the ADVANCED options to set your own sell price!!!

    3. NOTES AND LESSONS LEARNED

    1. There are trade skills that you can develop to reduce the amount of tax you pay and others that allow you greater range when buying and selling. At the beginning you can only place a buy order in the station you are docked. Later on, you can train to place buy orders 20 systems away without even undocking.

    2. Many of the trade skills are dependent on Charisma - something that most EVE character guides say you don't need as that doesnt help you fly ships or shoot weapons and misiles. Apparently you dont need a lot of Intelligence to trade.

    3. The markets are mostly driven by other players - you are in market pvp with them.

    4. Prices will go up and down - expect it.

    5. If you set buy orders across many systems (for example within 10 systems) - you may acquire expensive items in low sec space which could be hard to get in and out alive.

    6. Items and Ships - Items can be moved around - but most ships will probably be sold where you acquired them.

    7. Be careful when you set your prices and before you click on ok/ return - a small mistake with a digital point can be costly

    8. Can I tell you what items to trade? Sure - give me 500mil ISK first

    9. 10% Rule -

You will rarely make more than 10% on items you trade
If you make 10% profit on your wealth every day - compounded everyday - by the end of the week you will double your money.

    10. Trading is a lonely way to play EVE

    11. Why Traders LOVE Fighters

We love em - lots of hugs and kisses. Fighters have brains - but it's not kept in their head - you know what I mean?

Fighters love violence and killing things - they have little patience - time thinking is less time for blowing up things.

Four fighters do a hard mission together and loot all their victims - they are loaded with guns, ammo, shields, lots of goodies they looted of their victims. They can sell all their loot for X in that system they are in - or for X+30% 4 systems away - what did they do?

Any questions? Ask on the SWAT forum or PM me.

Best bit of the first series was when that young lady had to turn up the heating in her house - for the little dinosaur.

And then went around in a few episodes just in her underpants - that was excellent sci fi!!

Can't tell you what happened after that cos my wife stopped me from watching it.

If you going to be a miner just be a miner, as well if you are going to be a trader, POS, and so on. Just keep your role.
3.- EVE is one of the most expensive online games, that means that rates goes from around $14 to up $19 depending on your time subscriptions
4.- Using isk to buy TIME CARDS is not an easy task, you have to produce at least $150 million is up to $200 million monthly to buy your time card each month

Hey Hawk - good advice mate = thanks for that.

You are right - it takes a lot of patience :-)

Specialising is key - it means you get where you want faster - Jack of All trades is probably impossible - or even will take you years - but remember have fun - that is main thing - try and specialise in something you enjoy doing.

Dop and I are committed in trying to help CF mates to the position of using in game cash to buy Time Cards and play for free.

From my own experience - I reckon I have only paid for the first 2 months subscription and since then I have been playing for free - using ingame cash - and I am paid up to end of August.

And if I can do it - :-) any other soul in CF can :-)

    Az -> No Mahdss
    Dop -> Lord Ozu
    Laser -> Telosis
Flash -> Flashy Gordon (Member of Fallen heavy Industries)

    For Simba

I hear the Seven Deadly Sins
And the Terrible Twins came to call on you
    The bigger they are babe
The harder they fall on you
And you you're always the same you persevere
On the same old pleasure ground
Oh and it never rains around here
    It just comes pouring down

    You had no more volunteers
So you got profiteers for to help you out
    With friends like that babe
Good friends you had to do without
And now they're taken the chains and the gears
    From off your merry-go-round
Oh and it never rains around here
    It just comes pouring down

    And your new Romeo
Was just a gigolo when he let you down
See the faster they are babe
The faster they get out of town
Leaving make up stains and the tears
    Of a clown
Yes and it never rains around here
    It just comes pouring down

Oh you were just a roller coaster memory
I don't know why I was even passing through
I saw you making a date with Destiny
When he came around here asking after you
In the shadow of the Wheel Of Fortune
You're busy trying to clear your name
You say ' I may be guilty yeah that may be true
But I'd be lying if I said I was to blame
See we could have been major contenders
We never got no money no breaks '
You're got a list of all the major offenders
You got a list of all their major mistakes
And he's just standing in the shadows
Yes and you smile that come-on smile
Oh I can still hear you say as clear as the day
' I'd like to make it worth your while '

    Ah but it's sad reminder
When your organ grinder has to come to you for rent
And all you've got to give him
Is the use of your side-show tent
Yes and that's all that remains of the years
    Spent doing the rounds
And I never never rains around here
Well it just comes pouring down

Now you know what they say about beggars
You can't complain about the rules
You know what they are about beggars
You know who's the first to blame his tools
You never gave a damn about who you pick up
And leave laying bleeding on the ground

You screw people over on the way up
Because you thought that you were never coming down
And he takes you out in Vaudeville Valley
With his hand up smothering your screams
And he screws you down in Tin Pan Alley
In the city of a billion dreams

Cmon mate - I know u have dealt with much worse things than here - please re consider - or take a little break

    Best wishes to you

Hey shipmates - I will bump this

I have seen Dop, Laser and Magnet join forces and even an old persona non grata - Presidential Candidate Ruivo make an appearance.

Flash and Minnie Mouse with some other German speaking mates are online - so those members of the community with German sprechen speciality may want to hook up with them.

Some rumours that other former and existing CF members are around - but I have not been able to hook up with them.

Dop's getting some good experience on mission running and pvp, Laser's on the Mining and I do some trading and mission running.

If you are interested - come and see us online.

Fixer is a great bloke and the best cop alive.

I won't even tell u some of the fun we had in the old days in Rheinland - but it was real fun and some of the best times on Crossfire.

    1. You can make in game cash called ISK - to buy an extension to your game - so you do not pay real cash

Extensions can be 30 days to even 90 days

    2. Based on my own experience - I think you would be real talented/ lucky/ player to avoid paying the first 1-2 payments after the free 2 week has expired

    3. I was thinking maybe Crossfire players on EVE can help new CF players to EVE and train/advise/help players through this. The idea is to support players until they can stand on their own feet and pay for the subscription themselves through their own in game activities

    4. There could be an idea to develop a SWAT Academy on EVE for new CF players blah blah

    5. Working and playing together is better than playing alone - unless you are a trader like me :-)

    6. EVE is not CF and there will be no pvp!!!

    Hi Folks

I had the pleasure of talking to Dop the other afternoon about EVE and Crossfire

We both agreed it would be nice to think about having a CF wing in EVE - but we are only at very early stages as both of us are still learning and we both have a long way to go.

I understand that paying for the monthly subscription will put a lot of people off - also the game is TOTALLY DIFFERENT - and even I sometimes miss the in your face - fast paced action and roleplay available in CF.

Nevertheless, it would be great if we could build a clan with the right team work that could help fellow CF members - and even all of its members - to play for free.

There is no trust in EVE - but I will assume the trust build in CF - even between the different roleplay factions - could be something used that can be used our advantage in EVE

Anyway just a thought - comments as you please -

    1. Yes

    2. There is a manual?

    3. New players will not be earning 5 mill per hour - not for a few months I reckon - unless they are very enterpring

3a - Think if you lose a pvp in Crossfire - you lose your ship and its equipment - how much would that be? (Remem the equip is also worth more than ship sometimes)

3b - Within a few months - u wont be flying around in 15 mill ship - my BS is worth 125mill and double that if you want to add cost of losing equip

EVE quote 1 - Only fly what you can afford to lose

    4. Each system has a security rating - if you shoot on a ship in hi sec - the cops will come after you

Try firing on ships in 0.4 space and below

    5. What you can do in hi sec space is ore thievery - take minerals from cans - that is legit - but your victim (and his whole clan) can try and kill you - legally - for the next 10 mins

In 0.4 sec space and lower = you can do what you want
