I think when Cat-Bread is attached to something, it does not fall down anymore, so it won't keep rotating. The rotation it had previously will slow down and stop due to energy conversion and extra friction...

A solution might be to make the whole system fall down, or dismount the Cat-Bread, wait for some time till it rotates fast enough, then mount it back to the generator, and repeat this mount-dismount cycle all the time.
The down side of both options is that extra energy is required to either elevate the generator between falls, or to mount/dismount the Cat-Bread. This way the resulting production to consumption ratio (energy efficiency) can go below 1, so perpetuum mobile may not be achieved.

Hello MTthreat,
looks like you have both Police license (green) and Mercenary license (yellow) mounted at the same time

When landed/docked on a base, just sell or unmount them (in "external equipment" tab), and these colour octahedrons will not bother you any longer.

I never tried switching between Normal and Open SP while playing through CF campaign (so can't answer your main question), but when you use Open SP and the game starts in Sigma-17 with a Starflier and 0 credits, just close your game, double-click "OpenSPFix.cmd" in your Freelancer folder and follow the instructions there.

Hello Reveal,
the game updates automatically when you start the CF launcher; update is finished when the "Launch Multiplayer" button becomes available.
Files on your hard disk are being overwritten during the process - that's why it is important that write protection for CF files is disabled ("read-only" attribute in folder properties must be removed).
