Since the Blood Dragons
are allied with the GC Chicks, you may not be able to land at Ainu. In that case, you'll
have to win their favor by killing some of their enemies. Try attacking some Kusari Navy,
Kusari Police, Farmers Alliance, and/or Hogosha ships. Of course, attacking Kusari Police
and Navy ships will have immediate and interesting consequences.
But it will only take
a few of those to bring you into neutrality with them and the Blood Dragons. Then you can
explore Chogoku and Hiruga at your leisure.
Merry
Christmas!
Happy Hanukkah!
Happy New Year!

Only the best shields in Sirius mate.
Nope. Just the printscreen option.
That's where the flaming ships in my sig graphic came from.
I'm running Crossfire Mod 1.56 Client Edition with Crossfire Open SP Addon 1.1 in
FLMM with no trouble. I didn't equate the Open SP Addon with Lord Dragon's reference to
"OSPlayer".
In the spirit of the thread, I'd
just like to point out that there is no "U" in forty.
If you look in your Freelancer Mod Manager, it will tell you what mods are
compatible. If it warns you not to run Crossfire with OSPlayer at the same time, you should
heed it. With a mod as extensive as Crossfire, it's probably best to run it without mixing
other mods. And, if you try to use Crossfire for Multiplayer and you've got other mods
installed, you may crash the server, which is just bad citizenship. To say the least. So
stick with CF; there's plenty there to play with. With 20 new systems and 40 new ships,
who needs another mod anyway?
I've seen this too Chief. After I won the allegiance of the Outcasts by attacking
Planetform ships, almost all the Bretonia houses became neutral. I'd be cruising through
Bretonia surrounded by "white" neutral ships, and, as I approached, they would suddently
turn red and start attacking. And neutral pirates will automatically attack if you have
loot they want and refuse to give it to them.
It's one of the little things that adds
mystery and excitement to the Freelancer/Crossfire experience.
Pardon me, Mr. Operator, but what the heck's a Data Storm
Blocker?
And, it seems our lucrative VIP's to Hawaii run has been scrapped, or at least
been made much less profitable. What was the rationale behind that? So far, I've noticed
the addition of tractorable escape pods and Nuclear Fusion devices. Any interesting new
weapons you'd like to tell us about?
Just move or
copy your saved games to a different folder before you install the new mod. Then, after you
install the new mod and activate in FLMM, recopy the saved games to the existing saved games
folder (My Games/Freelancer/Accts/SinglePlayer in Win2000) and you're all set. When you
relaunch, you'll be running the newer mod, but will have access to your saved games.
Are you referring to patrol paths OP ? That would be nice to
have, especially with 40 new systems.
And thanks again for such a magnificent mod!
if you're using Windows
2000, just hit the printscreen key. The file is saved as a bitmap in your My Pictures
folder. The default file name is screen 1, 2, 3, etc. Then you can open and edit them in any
bitmap editor, such as PhotoShop, PhotoPaint, or PaintShop Pro. The trick is capturing the
scene you want while you're flying and shooting.
The manual makes no reference
to processer speed. The setup screen during installation says the minimum recommended is
600mhz, but it will continue installation at my meager 450mhz.

The other ship is the Heretic from Privateer 2: The Darkening.
The Heretic is the first really great fighter you can fly as you progress in money and skill
in P2. I guess it's just a coincidence then. Now I'll have to change my sig then.
QuoteSo the whole time you had Crossfire you didn't even got to the server?!
NO, I've been on the server, but had trouble with it due to my anemic processor. So I
play mainly SP. I was thinking of givin MP another try, but have been unable to log on.
Op, what would you say is the minimum processor speed necessary for a smooth Multiplayer
experience?
QuoteDisplay MoreI have this same problem. -_- The enemies don't even stop firing.
Any damage done is repaired in the next INSTANT, regardless of what they're doing, head on
attack or no. I can't even beat ROGUES (and I'm a fairly good pilot) because they're
pretty much invincible. A little advice? I read this entire topic, and I can't afford and
of that equipment or get to any of those places without being massacred...
You'll just have to change tactics. I've noticed that if you charge a ship and fire on
it on full afterburner, the added momentum of your ship increases the damage. (Found that
out by accident). Try charging the ship at full speed, do as much damage as possible, then
get on his or her tail and chase em down. If you're on his or her arse firing, the other
ship can't continually reload bots and shields.
Re: Nomad weapons: You can't buy
em, but you can blow them off Nomad ships. This is much easier in sp than Mp for some
reason, but I play mainly SP and I have four Noman energy cannons on my Warblade. They're
great because they're level 10 guns with zero power drain. Accept no substitues.
Congrats Op. It's a helluva mod. An ambitious project well executed. Now
if I can only get a processor upgrade or a new pc for Christmas, I may be able to enjoy it
in MultiPlayer.
My favorite is the Warblade. It's got agility,
durability, and a pair of torpedo launchers for having fun with heavy targets. And, in case
you couldn't tell from my sig, I like the way it looks...

C'mon, man, read the rest of the CF 1.5x threads...
You mean
like the one that says "Don't use 1.55?". That's nice but why then does the home page say,
" To play on our server you will need to download the "Crossfire Mod 1.55"
Or how
about the one that says don't download anything. Wait for version 1.56? That's nice, but
if the current method of connecting is to use a version that doesn't exist yet, how the
hell are the 3 users online connecting?
One shouldn't have to read every single
thread on the friggin forum to get basic information about how to connect to the server.
