  • Can't create character

    I recently decided to get back into crossfire and copied my FL ID from my old computer where I had it previously installed. When the game booted up for the first time, I backspaced the default account ID and input my old one. I retrieved my old accounts and could play on the server, but when I decided to delete one to free up room for a fresh char, I was unable to create a new character. The button is clickable and I can input a name, then it continues to the character list and the character does not appear. Also, when I run the file myflaccountid html application, it says the right characters but then adds "WKGVÄ8EHKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MICROSOFT GAMES\FREELANCER\1.0\INSTALLKEY" at the end. Has this happened to anyone else?

  • Downloading Freelancer

    Over the 3 years that I have played Crossfire, I have introduced a few friends to the game, and they have loved it.
    I would love to be able to give more friends the game, however the only way I have been able is to physically give them the files on a USB.
    The fact that Crossfire is a mod means that it requires Freelancer to run it, and as the games is quite old now, it's very hard to obtain Freelancer. I have looked around, and haven't been able to find a downloadable version of Freelancer. I'm not sure if there is or not, but if not, why not. I think it would be much easier to attract players if they only had to download the files, and it had Freelancer + Crossfire in one bundle. I'm not sure if I should put this in site suggestions, but if so, can somebody please move it.

  • Update on Roleplay

    So I have taken about a six month break from Crossfire, due to all the heat on the forums and hate in the game.
    When I left, the servers and forum were both in pretty bad shape, with accusations flying everywhere, and a distinct lack of roleplay in-game.
    I was wondering if it had all blown over and I should return to the game or is it still almost singleplayer?


    No disrespect meant to OP or anything, it was just the player base at the time.

    My internet is not working right now, so I am playing SIngleplayer, but it got stuck at the part where...

    I'm rich in Singleplayer and am simply traveling around trying to find it, but I sacrificed speed for docking at some stations with the Liberty Dreadnaught so I'm afraid I might have already gone past it.

  • Server Menu

    I am encountering a problem.
    When I select the Crossfire server, it simply tells me;
    "Please wait. The requested operation is taking longer than expected. Press ESC key to cancel."
    Then, if I press Escape or I wait it out, it comes up with;
    "I'm sorry, but a connection couldn't be established to that server. This is usually caused by the server going offline when you attempted to connect to it. It may also be caused by Internet problems. Please try again later."
    I tried again later about 30 times. Always exactly the same thing.
    My internet has never had a problem with Crossfire before, not even a hint of a hitch.
    Does anyone know why it might be doing this, and even better, a way to fix it?

    I was wondering how people made videos of Crossfire in-game.
    I have seen a few of these, and might be interested in making a few myself, granted there are no copyright issues.
    Could anyone help me out with this?

  • Opinions on a ship choice

    The Demios is a good ship in my opinion.
    Not great maneuverability, but it has 6 level 10 guns, and 1 level 10 turret, 360º rotation..
    Nice armour.. Good ship for most areas.

    The first two videos are turning up as a black square, and the last one has a scroll bar horizontally, but it will not move, and that is the only thing there. Other than that, it is just another black square.
    Does anyone know why, but more importantly, how do I fix it?

    I don't quite see the problem here.
    If you want to play with friends, play on MultiPlayer...
    If you want to play on your own, play Singleplayer.
    What's the problem?

    Synergy has finalised decisions.
    We are now open to negotiations, however, the clan will be inactive until 1.9 comes out.
    No specific permission is needed for entering Helios if you are a freelancer, irrelevant of your liscense.
    Currently though, no roleplay is allowed in Helios
    Currently, we have had only diplomatic negotiations with one clan, and that is [gT].
    The current [gT] relations, is that any [gT] clan member...
    Both clans may base in other clan's home system.
    Bounty setting on other clans is not tolerated.
    If a clan member(s) from each clan are chasing the same bounty, hostility acceptable.
    Decreased cost for ships in home systems of both clans, $2,000,000 decrease for any ships in Synergy system, $4,000,000 extra for any ships in [gT] system. Payable to any member online.
    Access through both systems granted. Permission not needed.
    No current alliance.




    Synergy's current Galaxy Representative is Doom12qw12, in-game known as Jonny.
    The second in command of Synergy, is Willord.
    We currently have five members, and two joining soon.

    Well, now it doesn't suck so much. I had a record of everything I had put on and taken off my Bank, so I added it all together and got like 324 or something.
