Actually Flank I was talking of CAMPERS not traders there is one very big difference
-
trading in NY not leaving the system i am told is considered as camping, so for those that are staying in NY trading between man + pitts are considered to be camping although my deffinition of thge term is staying in the same spot doing absoluetly nothing for hours on end which i am sorry to say i have only seen SP do but then again they cant be called campers because mostly at the time there are in conversation either with thier clan members or are helping newcomers out, so my view is that whether or not you are in any system and do not leave that system and are either trading or otherwise you are seen to be a camper obviuosly RP and events is another situtation...moral of the story is change between system on a regular basis or be labelled camper unless participating in RP or server event....

Wavey its not a dig at the SP's m8 i was just pointing out that this may be considered by some as camping i know they sit in systems for a long time and while doing so they are helping people out or carrying out admin related tasks and i dont have a problem with it at all, in fact i have sat next to 2 admin for a while in NY and been having convo's with them, 1 in particular that has helped me with gameplay bassically since day 1 i have nothin bad to say about the SP at all
-
It is their JOB so it can never be considered camping

For the record, without trying to flame anyone, im against this new NY thing simply becuz it will mean there is no true safe haven anymore imo.It was perfect for stores had decent, fast routes for a train and you could simply chat without being shot in the middle of a conversation. it gave everyone a little security. The freelancers are gonna be hit the hardest while clans will just store everything in their clan system and have more knowledge of routes becuz they have traveled more and wont have a problem, new freelancers are completly screwed in the trading department becuz they are new and havnt got the chance to explore. even when they reach whatever lvl (40?) that still aint quite enough to protect themselves. I mean think about that, fully armed pirate vs a freelancer with maybe if they are lucky a shroud, possibly with a few decent weps. no insult towards freelancers but, I doubt the they could handle it with that setup in fact i highly doubt anyone could. And btw what about when no SPs are on, whos gonna enforce those rules eh? simply reporting it later leaves room for people to abuse others while waiting for SP(they can still go on a killing rampage before they are taken care of and simply win in their eyes). Thats really gonna lower the amount of as pointed out earlier. You know there are gonna be people who abuse this. I really think this is a bad idea, I guess we'll just see how it unfolds....
on a side note I guess I need to move several of my chars...I havnt been on for awhile and come back and find this
I left them in there from doing various activities trading, chasing pirates, etc. Ill be on later today to move em so SPs dont get mad.

Just move em out pls m8

Actually I am wondering about two things:
1) Information about this step did occur very slow, i was missing a reason for this drastic step being explained to players.
2) The main reasons for exiling all players above lvl 60 from NY are, as far as i understand, campers in NY and maybe the intention of OP to make people visit other systems more often.
Point 1 is just a failure in information policy, which can be easily handled by making a short notice in the forum in ADVANCE.
Point 2 is a little bit more complicated for me, as I have to guess, what intentions OP had with this step, but the Problem with real campers was handled in the forum in a very detailed form.
SP had already the necessary tools at hand, to handle this situation. You got problems with campers, so warn and / or kick / ban them.
You got problems with high level players "farming gold" in NY? Create some other interesting routes for traders (Just have a look at the famous Sol-Run). As long as 1 point of the Route is outside NY, pirates do have chance.I do appreciate the work of OP a lot, as I had much fun so far, but as far as I´m concerned, this action was totally unnecessary.

Sorry Wavey for the miss understaning

Op made an announcement several weeks ago on this matter.
Now we have rules ,I have posted them on Server News. -
I got a question. If you are trading outside of NY or kill a player or NPC outside of NY and get cargo that has the best price inside of NY at the time due to the dynamic markrt we now have, Are we not allowed to go into NY long enough to sell the cargo and get out? If not that's cool, I can deal with that. I just want to know before hand so i don't break any server rules. I have read the new rules for NY and understand but it was never made clear if we couldn't trade between NY and another system in 1 run, just that we could not trade in NY only to my understanding. I think trading in NY only, and trading between NY and another system cause of the dynamic trade system is different. I just want to have it a little more clarified, thank you.

If the PvP ban in NY has actually been lifted, then the console messages in-game, and the rules holo outside Manhattan should be changed in accordance with this. This was not the case this morning, so I have to assume the ban is still in place. Sadly, most newbies do not come first to the forum to see what the server climate is, so they are quite vulnerable to dishonorable pirates who are too lame to challenge or attack players capable of killing them outside NY.
Any newbie has only to call any IOC pilot in-game if under threat by pirates, and we will come hand out some whoop-a** to the pirates, wherever they are... [11]

Forgot to ask. If a freelancer has a store that is in NY and still under lvl 60 that is ok then isn't it? Seeing how the rules are for players that are over lvl 60. Am i correct on this point?

I may be wrong about this Mephisto, but I think the reason for the ban was to prevent experienced pilots from running to NY to escape opposing pirates during ASF-CSF roleplay. -
Finally some time for CF...
I leave for a few days and look what happened? We have a system, and RP get's even worse.
What is going on here cannot even name roleplay, since almost no one acts as his/her role demands.
And for LP... After dozens of works (you still didn't payed one of the jobs), you blow up one of our storage without any reason? Fine.
For now on, SL close every contract with LP and wage a full scale against them. -
Well it seems like the pirates are doing their RP.
I saw we attack them from all sides, corner them and drive them back into the abyss where they came from.
Who's with me?
And shooting a store - that's unspeakable crime
-
I want to be clear.
IOC is NOT joining any war against LP.
However we do like to shoot Pirates. hehehe
